Over the past decade, HBS has used a suite of ZOHO tools. We watched them grow by solving real problems, prioritizing users, and staying profitable. In many ways, their story mirrors a belief I hold: world-class innovation does not require a metropolitan zip code. From the cultural heart of Tanjore to taking shape in Tenkasi and now resonating across 180+ countries, ZOHO has defied conventional thinking about corporate growth. Their products are thoughtful, simple, secure, and delightfully usable at fair prices. I’ve heard people from the UK, USA and Australia talk about ZOHO and their products with genuine respect and every time, it fills me with pride and admiration. ZOHO’s @UlaaBrowser won the Indian Web Browser Development Challenge (IWBDC) in a national competition. Their messaging app @Arattai saw a 100× jump in daily signups, from ~3,000 to ~350,000 in just three days. Arattai also quickly climbed to the top of the social apps chart in India. Also, ZOHO is now angling to challenge even established productivity suites by combining AI with deep integration of apps. But perhaps what impresses me most is how @svembu vision goes beyond product. Through ZOHO Schools, he is offering rural youth a hands-on, professional alternative to conventional college pathways. His focus is not on credentialism but on tangible skills, and this democratizes opportunity for youth in Tier II/III cities. Every morning, before I dive into the chaos of my day, I spend about 10 to 15 minutes doing something that might sound a little old-school but, it works amazingly. This small habit gradually has become a concrete part of my routine and it keeps me grounded and centered throughout the day. It’s when I get crystal clear on what I want, what I actually need, and how to make it happen. Building something from the ground up comes with its fair share of uncertainties, especially for first generation entrepreneurs. But, having an internal anchor—a belief in something greater than ourselves—can bring calm in the storm. That peace makes all the difference. Lately, we’re hearing a lot of passionate views about stray dogs in response to the Supreme Court’s judgment. The truth is, coexisting isn’t always easy. Moreover, the Supreme Court hasn’t called for harm or neglect of stray dogs. Recent verdict aims to find a thoughtful balance between ensuring public safety and humane treatment of stray dogs. Stray dogs, while a part of our communities, can sometimes pose real challenges, especially during odd hours. There was a time I used to leave from work before sunrise. Empty streets, a cool breeze, and the occasional howl that made my stomach tighten. There was a pack near my street — territorial, unpredictable. I’ve had to delay my departure almost everyday. Sometimes I’d wait for the newspaper guy to pass, just to feel safer walking that stretch. It was stressful, and honestly that shouldn’t be the norm for anyone. I love animals. I do. But I also love getting to and back from work without anxiety hanging over my head. And, children should be able to walk or play without fear. That’s non-negotiable. This verdict doesn’t pit humans against animals. It’s about finding the middle ground with safety at its core. It’s reassuring to know that this decision is being extended nationwide.
