The new Spike Chunsoft guidelines aren't really anything to worry about, its all stuff that's always been pretty standard in the community! Back in the day if you tried to monetise your fangan a small group of gay people would take you out back and shoot you... Good times! 💛

@HipocampalPain It’s never been allowed but I don’t think they care to take action over a video series using their OST.
The only dialogue of concern is the one about fangans being unallowed if they include *inappropriate content* deemed by them. Which basically just means whatever they want.

@imleeham I think the things I’m most worried about would be not being able to use music and sfx, ahhh so tricky I wonder what falls under fair use or not. But yeah I agree that as long as a fangan doesn’t rock the boat by monetizing or trying to rival anything it should be fine… I hope

The spike fangame production guidelines are literally fine. I don’t know why people are acting like using copywrited assets has ever been legal, it’s just whether they care enough to re-enforce this on small scale projects. My opinion is that it’s a friendly reminder to not -
