Ali Larijani murdered 35,000 Iranians in January. He sent forces into hospitals to murder wounded protesters while they were still hooked up to IVs. Then he would murder the doctors and nurses who treated them. Anyone who tries to spin Larijani as a “moderate” is a disgrace.

I fear @vali_nasr is right. When I met Ali Larijani I found him an absolute insider kingpin of the Iranian regime -- but also the kind of strong and pragmatic leader who just might be able to hammer out a peace deal. Not sure, but I wonder if the war will now be harder to end.

Larijani’s replacement will be appointed by IRGC. With every assassination U.S. and Israel engineering greater radicalization of Iran’s leadership. It will makes for a bleak future for Iran, Iranians, the region and ultimately makes it far more difficult for U.S. to disentangle itself from endless conflict in the region.

Toronto police officers came to this woman’s house to speak to her about a post she made online about our Prime Minister Mark Carney. They let her know the next time she will be charged and taken to jail… meanwhile people in Toronto are urinating on public transit or in corners by storefronts.. not to mention the violence that is climbing.. but no worries.. money well spent, right?
