Last night I went to watch Dr Louise Newson's theatre show 'Hormones & Menopause - The Great Debate'. We have quite different opinions so I wanted to hear what she had to say

@criminographer I am guessing the person who said grief should be private wasn’t a bereaved parent. Many of us have got comfort from sharing and reading others stories. Knowing we are not alone is so powerful. Sending love x

I was once told that grief should be private. It was really terrible advice for us. F gets a lot of comfort from talking openly about how he's feeling in grief. Please know that bereaved parents think long & hard about what and how and why they put their experiences out there. X

We're missing our sidekick, our food stealer, our best friend.I've been in a bit of a hole this weekend. Just to answer a question I got, I share our grief experiences, including F's,so that hopefully others won't walk the path in the dark. I think navigating sibling loss is (1/2)

I'm doing a couple of hours at work today. We all need some routine and distraction. Bought myself a new bag with Isabelle colours. That monkey keyring would have been stolen instantly. ❤️ #grief #childloss

This was a still, taken from a video. I remember feeling so anxious that week as it was just after her diagnosis. But we decided to leave it behind just for a while and swing. How we miss you; your ability to squeeze out the fun even in the darkest times. X

@criminographer F sounds like a very special little boy. He has been through too much. He has great parents who take the time to support him where he is at. It’s my experience that the questions don’t stop and change as children develop. Sending love to your family ❤️

I wanted to share in case anyone is going through similar. Our boy is lucky to be surrounded by so many kind friends and strangers and I hope he keeps talking and sharing how he's feeling. He's the most courageous person we know. 💙

He's revisited it a couple of times, repeating that she's died and she can't come back & play because she had a poorly heart like Alexander. We are so proud of him, but our heart breaks that he's had to endure this a second time. We know he will carry them in his beautiful heart.

We are devastated to say that our beautiful Isabelle died in the early hours of this morning. We are absolutely broken. However, we want you all not to think of her death, but to honour her by living life as she did: fearlessly, joyously & spontaneously.

"On many occasions during my treatment, I was asked (as a distraction) what I would be doing if I wasn’t in hospital that day." There are many sad things in this wonderful piece but this question struck me as particularly cruel, especially when you have small children 😢

I've written a personal piece for the special Patient led issue of @bmj_latest It was very hard to write, it's not exactly how I want it to be but it's there. Seeing the image drawn for it made me cry. Navigating breastfeeding through cancer treatment bmj.com/content/386/bm…

@itsthatgirlsuzi Having been on both sides of the health service this is 💯. I would also advise doctors to check in with patients about what they have understood. A surgeon recently just changed one word of what i understood and I walked away with so much more hope.

@criminographer I am sorry that you are going through this. Well done for seeking help and speaking out. I too suffered PTSD after my baby son’s sudden death. Talking therapy helped me. It returned again during a difficult hospital admission. Sending love to you x

It's been hard to seek help, &it took my admission to access. It shouldn't be that way. Let's raise awareness but also provide the infrastructure to prevent admissions like mine. My children need their Mum to be as well as she can. Sending love to all affected #ptsdawarenessmonth

It's the end of #PTSDAwarenessMonth. This photo came up on my feed today from 2020. My beloved boys; happy chaos around them. How I long for these moments again. It was a condition I thought confined to certain backgrounds & never dreamed would be something I would struggle with

Rosalie Nancy Barley made her appearance on Friday 3rd May, coming screaming into the world. Born by caesarean, only her head was out of my body when she started to screech. Having a living baby is the best thing ever & I'm missing Bea even more now. So in love with my girls ❤️

05/05/18 the day our lives shattered into tiny pieces. The day his heart stopped beating. The day we stepped into a world of pain and silence. 6 years of absence, 6 years of not seeing, holding, hugging but still loving deeply, forever. Do something in Michael’s memory today ❤️
