I was once told that grief should be private. It was really terrible advice for us. F gets a lot of comfort from talking openly about how he's feeling in grief. Please know that bereaved parents think long & hard about what and how and why they put their experiences out there. X

This was a still, taken from a video. I remember feeling so anxious that week as it was just after her diagnosis. But we decided to leave it behind just for a while and swing. How we miss you; your ability to squeeze out the fun even in the darkest times. X

I wanted to share in case anyone is going through similar. Our boy is lucky to be surrounded by so many kind friends and strangers and I hope he keeps talking and sharing how he's feeling. He's the most courageous person we know. 💙

He's revisited it a couple of times, repeating that she's died and she can't come back & play because she had a poorly heart like Alexander. We are so proud of him, but our heart breaks that he's had to endure this a second time. We know he will carry them in his beautiful heart.

We are devastated to say that our beautiful Isabelle died in the early hours of this morning. We are absolutely broken. However, we want you all not to think of her death, but to honour her by living life as she did: fearlessly, joyously & spontaneously.

It’s 9 years since we lost you and your DIY skills. Dad, you aways held onto hope for me when things were tough. It was a real gift. Miss you.

"On many occasions during my treatment, I was asked (as a distraction) what I would be doing if I wasn’t in hospital that day." There are many sad things in this wonderful piece but this question struck me as particularly cruel, especially when you have small children 😢

@itsthatgirlsuzi Having been on both sides of the health service this is 💯. I would also advise doctors to check in with patients about what they have understood. A surgeon recently just changed one word of what i understood and I walked away with so much more hope.

@criminographer I am sorry that you are going through this. Well done for seeking help and speaking out. I too suffered PTSD after my baby son’s sudden death. Talking therapy helped me. It returned again during a difficult hospital admission. Sending love to you x

It's been hard to seek help, &it took my admission to access. It shouldn't be that way. Let's raise awareness but also provide the infrastructure to prevent admissions like mine. My children need their Mum to be as well as she can. Sending love to all affected #ptsdawarenessmonth
