Today, I had the honour of presiding over a meeting of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) alongside my deputy and Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani, with fellow Governors of our great party in attendance. During our deliberations, we reviewed the progress made so far and further strengthened our strategic engagement ahead of our party primaries and the 2027 Presidential Election. We also reflected on the leadership and achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose commitment to national development, economic reforms, infrastructure renewal, and the welfare of Nigerians continues to inspire growing confidence and support across the country. In recognition of this progress, the Forum unanimously reaffirmed its endorsement of his second-term bid. As leaders, our responsibility remains to continue working together in unity, deepen the structures of our party, and remain focused on delivering hope, stability, and sustainable development for the Nigerian people. We are encouraged by the strides already made under President Tinubu’s administration and remain optimistic about the future of our nation as we continue to work collectively towards success in 2027. - Hope Uzodimma

During our celebration of the New Year Mass at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Parish, Ozuh-Omuma, I felt profoundly reminded that the deepest joy of this season rests in the union of brethren. Coming together in faith, prayer, and gratitude, we strengthened our shared hope and renewed our commitment to journey forward with charity and purpose. I extend my sincere appreciation to everyone who joined us, both near and far, to share in this grace-filled celebration. Your presence strengthened our community and affirmed the bonds that unite us as one family in Christ. With gratitude in my heart, I pray that 2026 will be a blissful year for us all, marked by peace, good health, and God’s abiding blessings. - Hope Uzodimma

My Christmas message, delivered after the Holy Eucharist at my home parish, St. Rose of Lima Catholic Parish, Ozuh-Omuma, centered on the call to be worthy Christians who truly exemplify the virtues we profess. I reflected on our collective journey, noting that the security challenges we once faced in the State were, in many ways, politically contrived by individuals who claim Christianity yet harbor hatred for others — a posture clearly not in the spirit of Christ. I reminded the fact that Christmas season is a time for sober reflection: to examine how we have fared throughout the year and to make amends where necessary, and in this regard, once more, I call for continued support in our transformation journey. We are continually mindful of the judicious management of public funds, making sure ndi Imo receive true value for their money, and this is why we have not relented in executing projects that make life more meaningful for our people, from roads to other critical public infrastructures. I stated this while speaking after the Holy Eucharistic Mass at the Government House Chapel, Owerri, in commemoration of the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. Drawing from the sermon, which reminded us that we are children of the King, I emphasized that as heirs of the Kingdom, we must not settle for less. It is on this foundation that we continue to drive growth across sectors, ensuring that ndi Imo live aright and enjoy quality infrastructure in health, education, and other essential services. With every opportunity before us, we are deliberately positioning the Imo State economy for global relevance. In this spirit, we look forward to the Ahiajoku Lecture and the Imo Economic Summit taking place in a few days, and I encourage every Imo son and daughter, at home and in the diaspora, to participate in these epoch-making events. - Hope Uzodimma

The Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC), under the visionary leadership of its Managing Director, Chief Austin Onyedebelu, is currently constructing an ultra-modern 20-bed hospital at Umuorji, Ohaji-Egbema Local Government Area.

This evening, I interacted with the second batch of ndi Imo, at the Government House Chapel, before they proceeded on pilgrimage to Israel. This is the second batch, after the first that travelled penultimate week to Israel and I charged them to offer prayers for continued peace and progress in our dear Imo State. - Hope Uzodimma

Imo State is witnessing a major boost in education infrastructure as Governor Hope Uzodimma has begun the construction of 105 new classrooms across schools in all 27 local government areas.

Our traditional institutions must be supported and encouraged to continue delivering their vital, contributory role in sustaining growth and cohesion in our society. I stated this while speaking at the Eze Imo Palace in Owerri, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Chairman, Imo State and South East Council of Traditional Rulers, HRH Eze Dr. E. C. Okeke CFR, on the throne as Eze Udo II of Amaifeke. In eulogizing His Royal Highness, I paid tribute to his leadership, wisdom, and fatherly guidance, which have played impactful role in the development of our dear State. It is my earnest prayer that God, in His infinite mercy, will continue to guide him as he reigns. I also expressed my sincere commendation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, ably represented by our dear brother, the Honourable Minister of Works, Sen. David Nweze Umahi CON, whose presence was a heartwarming assurance that Mr. President is truly a leader who honours tradition and values our heritage. - Hope Uzodimma

Today, I declared open the 3-Day Retreat for Imo State Local Government Officials under the theme: "Public Sector Governance for Officials of Local Government in Imo State, with emphasis on Enhancing Local Government Sustainable Development". I reminded the participants that public office is a noble calling, one that demands responsibility, passion for service, accountability, and a commitment to giving the people a genuine sense of belonging. To drive this message home, I urged the Local Government Chairmen to hold regular meetings with stakeholders within their domains to promote inclusiveness, shared responsibilities, and unity. I further advised Councilors to consistently consult with leaders in their wards on the needs and challenges of their communities, working closely with Traditional Rulers and President Generals. This retreat, with resource personnel from the Progressive Institute - a brainchild of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) - will further equip our LGA officials with the best approaches to implementing our party’s development agenda. - Hope Uzodimma
