@amalmnop I don't wanna debate regarding the currently offered sharia financing products as riba or no (you can find argument from both sides), but the main issue of riba here is more fiat money i guess.

The issue is car-centric society enabled by riba. Riba to finance car purchase is much more accessible in Malaysia, longer tenure, lower rate, packaged as Islamic.
While the lay people suffer, the banks profit. No government so far has the political will to change this.

Bruh I have friends in KL who leave their house at 6am just to arrive at their workplace early to avoid the jam. Some even tell me "Keluar 5 minit lambat pun akan sangkut jam teruk dah". And they've been practicing this routine for years. So launching this "initiative" aint gonna solve anything IMO because sadly, this is already the norm 😭 😭
