I’m a Carpenter,
So is my father,
So was his father.
I used to think I was a failure because I had a practical trade.
The school system told me I would fail at the age of 7, yet I still...
Passed high school with average grades despite this.
I struggled in my late teens.
For a while, I blamed the world.
But when I hit my 20's I decided to come at life with a vengeance…
A vengeance against…
1 The doubt of others.
2 And my own Ingrained self-doubt.
A curse that afflicted me daily.
For many many years.
Fast forward to 2015…
I'm 23.
I move to Amsterdam to start a new life.
I decided to start my own carpentry company immediately.
I named it Bespoke Works.
I wanted to:
/ Run my own jobs.
/ Create my own designs.
/ Take control of my time.
And be my own boss.
Eventually, I started to get some pretty nice projects…
Through strategic positioning [Branding]
I attracted Home Renovations…
And Office Renovations…
But there was a problem!
I messed up, a lot.
I had no free time.
Too many clients.
Not enough colleagues.
I had way too much to do.
I began to crack.
My relationships broke down.
But then I realized…
Other people had done this before.
I could find mentors online, on YouTube.
So I hunted.
I scoured the internet for the best mentors I could find.
I discovered:
- Mental Models
- Marketing Tactics
- Seo Strategies
And so on…
In time I began to develop my own models and frameworks.
I realized that some tasks were more important than others.
And I began to prioritize effectively.
If you got this far congratulations…
I am wrapping it up now,
but here is my list of top mentors by subject:
- Writing - Dan Koe
- Graphic Design - Chris Do
- Financial - The Swedish Investor
