@paloma_datgirl Because he hated Ursa for not loving him but her ex boyfriend/fiance, and took it out on Zuko

zuko's scar being on his chest because he always ran towards his destiny while aang's scar is on his back because he used to ran from his destiny

It’s fact that Aang and Zuko both have matching scars caused by Azula and healed by Katara.

Why This Reference was Necessary.... Let me bring us up to speed >>>>
I think this is a deliberate continuity nod by the creators of the series. The battlefield with giant earth coins in "Zuko Alone" is canonically the same one where Avatar Wan died fighting in the Spirit Wilds era.
The writers of Korra's team intentionally re-used the location for deeper worldbuilding and thematic resonance. So it underscores the Avatar cycle's vast history and how ancient conflicts echo through time, unnoticed by later figures like Zuko and the rest of us fans who watched but didn't noticed.🙂🤭
When LOK's team created Avatar Wan's "Beginnings" episodes, they deliberately re-used the exact giant earth-coin battlefield design from "Zuko Alone." This quietly canonized the spot as the same ancient site where Avatar Wan died 10,000 years earlier. For me, It adds rich worldbuilding, showing how the Avatar cycle's history lingers unnoticed in the landscape. No plot drivers, just elegant continuity between the series.
I hope you understand better now??😊😊 and Thanks for bring it to my notice @iampotterjr

1st Frame: Legend of Korra S02E8 2nd Frame: Avatar The Last Airbender S02E7 The episode "Zuko Alone" of ATLA showed Zuko passing through the battlefield where the Avatar Wan died. They are thousands of years apart. Does anyone know why this reference was necessary?

Because Korra's an absolute clown of an Avatar

Why does the Spirit World appear terrifying and mysterious in ATLA but bright and whimsical like Disneyland in TLOK?

Yangchen said it herself. You could talk to every single avatar in the avatar cycle and they would still have no solution to your problems. All they would tell you is their regrets and failures that has nothing to do with you. You would realise they are just as confused as you

@christ621ml watching this again just reminds me how much of an absolute joke Korra was...

@SymplyTonbra Haru seemed like a nice guy but he was completely boring. Glad Toph joined, and that they didn't make her a boy as they initially wanted to.
