The Sabres hired longtime NHL winger Milan Lucic in a scouting role, per league sources. Derek Dorsett, a fan favorite as a player for the Blue Jackets, is also joining the Sabres as a development coach.

@FatalGambit Even if he doesn't follow the same path as Reavo, I think some people forget that all 4 lines serve a purpose and having someone like Zack, who has a decent chance at developing into a very solid 4th line center, is important for future playoff pushes

People talking about Zack Ostapchuk as if he isn't also one of the baby sharks. Like yeah, he's not going to serve the same role as Misa or Mack, but the Sharks absolutely need a solid 4th line center like Zack is growing into, who is also willing to stick up for his teammates

I don't understand why this gained traction, but I saw a few comments about Zack's extension, and while of course anything can happen, he's one of the younger Sharks who I've found endearing but understandably doesn't get a lot of attention compared to the other young Sharks

@inayalt no same, like he’s SUCH a solid presence on the fourth line and i love how he sticks up for our players he is one of my favorites for sure :’) the fact that we have his presence for another four years makes me so happy

@ThrowACelly True! I kind of forgot about the net effect that losing Leddy, Klingberg, etc would have on the average Sharks' age 😂

@SiamPampam I feel like people forget how young he is! I saw someone say that he's going to be a trade piece when "one of the kids step up," and while anything is possible, Zack's still young himself and he's not standing in the way of other baby sharks given the role they expect from him

I already enjoyed Kesselring a lot and was happy about the trade, but finding out that he wanted to come to the Sharks before it even went through makes him so endearing. I really hope he can carve out his spot on the defense and thrive here

Defenseman Michael Kesselring on his trade to #SJSharks "I was driving back from the golf course, and heard it was the Sharks, and honestly, it was where I wanted to be. It's the team I had circled, a spot where I think I can come in and grow my game." Is already familiar with Ryan Warsofsky, having played with Team USA at the worlds last year, and has been skating with Will Smith (including today) and Collin Graf.
