I think what this whole "best American indie rock songs" thing is telling me is people are scared to admit we're a solo act country more than we are a band country. if you have to put a Strokes song in the top ten anything your worldview is too small. your mind is weak

@quaxov @theneedledrop see if you actually understood the context surrounding the review, it would make sense. a 4 will often be a very disappointing album, but after their last album was one of the worst of the year, he was genuinely impressed by this album and made that clear.

I accept some people don’t like Muse, find their style theatrical, boring, over the top. They admit they quite like the album but give it 4/10. Funny.

@indigohasears @CitizenAroused @theneedledrop At least five of the tracks get a pass from him and that alone means the strong 4 is inaccurate. He mentions that he loves “Cryogen” and speaks fondly of “Hexagons” with positive remarks about the songs doesn’t like. So, I don’t know how he comes to that conclusion.

Jack antonoff is a fantastic producer lol, when his production isn’t good, it’s usually more of a reflection of the artist he is working with rather than his own skills
