We learn more from streets & sense what cooks ..around in the minds of people & in conversations at corners, nooks.. Chess never makes you sad, even if you lose & the game is not over as long as you've a few pawns & those precious rooks Life must not be dull Never ignore yourself, read as many texts you wish, but always be conscious of your looks Stop when someone utters a forgotten word or speaks in an accent that attracts Or when you come across an innocent, radiant face--beauty that hooks Philosophy & history we will learn in the comfort of our home, not the streets It's easily available, if you open the books --Shams Ur Rehman Alavi #Poetry #Book #Books #Beauty #English #Englishpoetry #India #ShamsUrRehmanAlavi

Indian economy faces a tough time due to the ongoing war, inflation and oil crisis. Falling rupee, stressed kitchens and dependence on imports for gas, along with growing unemployment, are the major factors. #TheAsianTribune #India #Economy #IndianEconomy #Iranwar

@TheMuslim786 This shows complete breakdown of law and order. The extremist elements have a free run. It's parallel policing, snatching powers of state. Vigilantism, mob violence & targeting. Police and courts aside, all decisions made on the street on the basis of raw power. #Terrorism

@The_Int_View A case was registered against the group that was involved in this act. But the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) was not used. Why such softness!

The right-wing vigilantism has reached a stage where they carry out attacks, take law in own hands and subvert authority of the state. Bajrang Dal has been involved in parallel policing. Such groups are causing immense harm to the nation. #Extremism #Vigilantism #BajrangDal

B Dal was formed in 1984-85. It was Congress era at the centre. Soon, Dal expanded &t started putting up boards in cities that had 'Hindu Rashtra' painted on them. It infringed on citizens' rights, conducted moral policing & vigilantism. Then, parallel policing, ruckus & even violence. Authority of state is compromised when rowdies take over streets and get away.

There is an entire section of populace that now uses abusive, cheap and dirty language on the social media now. And, a class that uses another level of terms ranging from 'randi rona' [prostitute's cries] to 'pichhwaade mein aag'. There are lot of examples & such phrases are now 'acceptable'. Indecent lingo, frustrated individuals who are angry & boiling all the time. Many terms are strange, extremely cheap and have misogynist overtones. TV channels had brought anger and hyperbole. Then, the social media wave made it more mainstream. Using expletives is now fashionable. A decent conversation is not possible. A person responds to X and just because X is either opinionated or doesn't like the former's worldview, he can suddenly use indecent language. That platforms allow cheap language and don't censor many such words, it has become difficult to have a proper and decent conversation. Once it becomes the 'normal', the next generation that arrives and starts using social media, too acquires the same terminology and that's their basic learning experience. They go ahead and invent more such weird terms that aim to shame, stun or humiliate others. Can the society change or evolve into a better society where there is slightly more decency and basic respect for each other! #Society #Language #CheapLanguage #Abuse #SocialMedia

In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, officials reportedly arrived with a bulldozer to carry out demolition action at the house of AIMIM leader Mateen Patel. Videos circulating online showed members of Patel’s family welcoming the officials with flower garlands as they arrived for the operation. According to those present, family members sarcastically told the officials, “You’ve come to do such splendid work.”

@Anurag_Dwary It is anarchy, shameless act and parallel policing. The 'system' appears incapable to deal with the goons who can have a 'gamchha' or a piece of cloth in particular color, draped around, and this 'empowers' them so much that they can flout the law of the land.

Today is May 12, the day his formed the organization. Prince Farooq, the descendant of Tipu Sultan, was also in the board. His family hailed from Mohaan in today's Unnao district of Awadh. The same Mohaan that is known for another great son of the soil, Hasrat Mohani. Syed Ameer Ali was raised in Cuttack, which was then part of Bengal presidency. Today it is in Odisha, a separate state. When he formed CNMA, Sir Syed was not too pleased. Perhaps, he was cautious and felt that it may lead to political voices and demands would create friction with British government that was already harsh on Muslims in the wake of 1857, the first war of independence.

Syed Ameer Ali was a unique man in his era. Roots in Awadh, the man who spent his childhood in Cuttack, went on to become a distinguished personality. He went to Calcutta and was an alumnus of the Hooghly Mohsin College. Later went to Britain. Returned, taught at the Presidency College. Subsequently, went on to become a high court judge. Member of the Legislative Council of Greater Bengal. He focused on modern education for Muslims and for the community's women. Ameer Ali wrote extensively and left a stamp everywhere due to his efficiency and sincerity. He became the first Indian to sit as member of judicial committee of the Privy Council. It was on May 12, nearly 150 years ago, that he founded the first proper organization to take the issues of Muslims to the British government. A man with an international outlook, he remained active till the last. He was a humane person, concerned about the condition of the poor and spent his entire life in service for his community. --Shams Ur Rehman Alavi #SyedAmeerAli #IndianMuslims #Kolkata #Cuttack #Britain

Govt makes rules, administration implements. The administration must teach loafers that a state is not run in a whimsical manner. Such acts make a mockery of the system. Such rowdies and their acts harm country, state & govt's reputation. It doesn't help in 'ease of doing business'. Law and order is foremost.

@ftenergy Still, people return to urban areas. Urbanization continues despite the occasional rebound, as city life offers dreams and much more than the rural life. Even if the urban life is tough and cost of staying is high, the country is heading towards a more urban nation in future.

@Portfolio_Bull Literacy level higher in South but focus is more on administrative job, seen as real power in the North. People in South were strongly wishing to get into corporate world even as early as in 2000 & immigration to US was high on priority. Boom in Bengaluru, Hyderabad caused it.

South India is called “more educated” than North India. Then why more IAS officers come from North India ? According to data, IAS Officers by state:
UP → 571
MP → 391
Maharashtra → 359
Tamil Nadu → 343
Bihar → 303 Karnataka → 273 Rajasthan → 268 Kerala → 173 But when you see per 1 crore population: Tamil Nadu → 42
Kerala → 42
Telangana → 40
Andhra Pradesh → 40
Bihar → 31
UP → 29
MP → 13 Conclusion:
North India has huge population, so total numbers look bigger.

Confusion is created due to terms like cities and urban agglomerations. City has a limit. Like Delhi as a city is around 2.5 crore, officially. But as an urban area or a UA, it extends to all sides and reaches Ghaziabad as well as Gurgaon and it goes on & and on, deep into UP and Haryana, Over 5 crore, limitless as villages turning into towns and getting merged into the urban area.
