Seems to me that the fact the “strongest rebuke of a sitting president” by Catholic bishops was over immigration enforcement, not abortion, is pretty shameful for Catholics.

You’re not confused; you’re lying. The House has passed a clean CR. The Senate also needs to pass it. It’ll take 60 votes in the Senate. The Republicans have 53 votes. They thus need 7 Democrats to join them. That hasn’t happened yet. That is fine—until they lie about it.

This is not a false take. It’s historical fact.
Particularly in the Middle Ages and Reformation, the Catholic Church restricted access to Latin texts, limited common language translations, and required Church interpretation to “prevent heresy.”
