Seems to me that the fact the “strongest rebuke of a sitting president” by Catholic bishops was over immigration enforcement, not abortion, is pretty shameful for Catholics.
Christopher Hale@ChristopherHale

BREAKING: At Pope Leo XIV’s urging, U.S. Catholic bishops just delivered the strongest rebuke of a sitting president in Church history — condemning Trump-Vance raids as “inhumane” and “dehumanizing” in a 216–5 vote. thelettersfromleo.com/p/breaking-at-…

@charlescwcooke Why should Democrats rubber stamp a Republican resolution? If Republicans need their votes shouldn't Democrats have some say about what is in it? Otherwise just nuke the filibuster and put an end to this farce.

Catholics are called to support World Mission Sunday this weekend. Does anybody out there know of an official Catholic religious order that actually does missionary work (as opposed to social work)?

That offensive pass interference call in the Purdue-Minnesota game might honestly be the worst offensive pass interference call I’ve ever seen in a football game. What a brutal way to lose a game.

@TrevorSheatz It IS a 'context free' take with the pretty obvious intent of putting the Church in an unfavorable light...the context would make this take untenable and I suspect you know this.

This is not a false take. It’s historical fact. Particularly in the Middle Ages and Reformation, the Catholic Church restricted access to Latin texts, limited common language translations, and required Church interpretation to “prevent heresy.” Flee the Catholic Church.

The Catholic Church has historically discouraged regular, everyday people from owning and knowing the Bible—because knowing the Bible is the #1 reason why people end up leaving the Catholic Church.

Erika Kirk just publicly forgave her husband's killer. She said her husband wanted to save the lost boys of Western Civilization like him. She ended this way: "Let that miracle that was Charlie's life be your turning point as well: Choose prayer.  Choose courage. Choose beauty. Choose adventure. Choose family. Choose a life of faith. And most importantly choose Christ."  Amen. May Our Lady comfort her. May the Lord bless her. May Charlie Kirk rest in the Peace of the Lord. youtu.be/JJyUV3t5310

Humility is really freedom from ourselves. Those who exalt themselves think that nothing is more interesting than themselves. Yet, those who know they are precious in God’s eyes have greater things of which to boast, and a dignity that shines on its own. #GospelOfTheDay (Lk 14:1,7-14)
