We are down to the final week before the June 2 primary and this is where grassroots efforts matter most. You do not need to run for office to make a difference. In these final days, some of the most impactful things you can do are: ✔️ Share voter guides and candidate information ✔️ Talk to friends and family about why these races matter ✔️ Attend local events or candidate meet and greets ✔️ Volunteer a few hours for calls, texts, or door knocking ✔️ Remind people to actually get out and vote Many Iowa races are decided by small margins and a motivated grassroots community can absolutely change the outcome. Stand for Health Freedom recently shared a great “Top 5 Ways to Support a Health Freedom Candidate” guide and it is a timely reminder that everyday people are the reason movements grow. Take a look and find one way you can help during this final week before Election Day. #IowaVotes #MedicalFreedom #Grassroots #PrimaryElection #VoteInformed

Today was a BIG day for medical freedom and parental rights in Iowa. Two major bills were officially signed into law by Governor Kim Reynolds. 👏 HF571, the Medical Conscience Rights Act, was signed into law this morning. After four years of work, Iowa healthcare providers now have conscience and free speech protections under state law. Thank you to Senator Jeff Taylor and Representative Bill Gustoff for their leadership and management of this bill throughout the legislative process. Thank you also to Alliance Defending Freedom for helping draft and defend this legislation over the years. Then this afternoon, SF304 was signed into law, preventing minors from consenting to sexually transmitted disease vaccines without parental consent. What started as an idea after The HighWire and Aaron Siri discussed the Mazer vs. DC case has now become Iowa law after three legislative sessions. Thank you to Senator Sandy Salmon, Representative Eddie Andrews, and Representative Austin Harris for managing the bill this session. Thank you to bill sponsors Representative Dan Gehlbach, Senators Dennis Guth, Doug Campbell, Lynn Evans, and Cherielynn Westrich, along with the many legislators who worked behind the scenes and spoke on the floor in support of this effort. A special thank you to Iowans for Freedom and Oliver Bardwell for the teamwork and support throughout this process. And finally, thank YOU to the Iowans who emailed, called, testified, showed up, and stayed engaged. The people have always been the strength of our Republic. When citizens engage and work together, liberty and parental rights prevail. #MedicalFreedom #ParentalRights #IowaLegislature #InformedChoiceIowa #HealthFreedom

Thank you to the Shelby County and Crawford County Republicans for hosting a well organized event and creating space for important conversations. We appreciated the opportunity to be there, share resources, and talk with so many engaged Iowans. Events like this matter. They give people a chance to ask questions, learn more about the issues, and connect directly with organizations working across the state. If your group is hosting an event and looking to include additional voices and resources, we would love to connect. We are always looking for opportunities to show up, share information, and engage with communities across Iowa. Thanks again to everyone who stopped by to visit with us. #InformedChoiceIowa #MedicalFreedom #InformedConsenr

We’ve had a lot of people asking where candidates for Governor stand on medical freedom… so we pulled it all together in one place. Our gubernatorial write ups highlight what each candidate has actually done or said when it comes to medical freedom from legislation and pledges to public positions and survey participation. As always, Informed Choice Iowa does not endorse candidates. Our goal is to give you clear, factual information so you can make your own informed decision. Take a few minutes to review before June 2. 🔗 Read more: informedchoiceiowa.com/2026governorov…

A team effort from start to finish Pictured here is just part of the group that helped get SF304 to the Governor’s desk, including the ICI legislative team, Senator Guth, Representative Harris, and Iowans for Freedom. While we were not able to capture everyone in one photo, this truly was a team effort. Thank you to Speaker Grassley and Majority Leader Kaufmann for their leadership, and to every Iowan who took action along the way. We could not have done it without you! #InformedChoiceIowa #IowaLegislature #ParentalRights #InformedConsent #LetParentsDecide

SF304 is headed to the Governor’s desk! This is a big step forward for parental rights in Iowa. Medical decisions for minors should be made through open, honest conversations between parents and their trusted medical providers, not without their knowledge or involvement. Thank you to Senators Guth, Salmon, Campbell, Westrich, and Evans and Representative Gehlbach for sponsoring this bill. Thank you to Representative Harris for leading it on the House floor. A special thank you to Senator Guth and Representative Andrews for managing the bill through the committee process. Your leadership helped move this important policy forward for Iowa families. #ParentsDeserveASay #ParentalRights #InformedConsent #IowaLegislature #IApolitics #MedicalFreedom #HealthFreedom #LetParentsDecide #InformedChoiceIowa

Thanks to AAP’s lawsuit, ACIP is back and better!! 👏👏 “The changes significantly expand its scope, reshape its membership, and reframe how vaccine decisions are made.” . . . “The updated version expands that role. It directs the committee to examine not only benefits, but also risks, gaps in evidence, and unresolved safety questions. It calls for ongoing review of vaccine safety, including adverse effects, and introduces new areas of focus. These include cumulative exposure to vaccines and their components, variability in immune response, and the need to reanalyse data as new evidence emerges. The charter explicitly directs the committee to consider “gaps in vaccine safety research including adverse effects following vaccination.” . . . “The changes also extend to who is considered qualified to take part, by broadening the range of expertise deemed relevant to ACIP’s work. Alongside traditional fields such as immunisation practice and epidemiology, it now explicitly includes areas such as “toxicology… data science… [and] experience related to recovery from serious vaccine injuries.’” open.substack.com/pub/maryannede…

🚨🚨The Iowa House is preparing to debate a bill requiring parental consent for minors to use tanning beds. At the same time, SF304, which would require parental consent for certain vaccines, has not been brought to the floor. This raises an important question. If parental consent is required for one health related decision due to potential risk, why not for all? ⚖️There are also differences in accountability. -If someone is harmed by a tanning bed, there may be legal options depending on the agreement signed. -If someone is harmed by a vaccine, claims are handled through a federal compensation program, and manufacturers have liability protections. Parents should have the right to be involved in medical decisions for their children. Tell Iowa House leadership to bring SF304 to the floor and send it to the Governor’s desk. #ParentsDeserveASay #ParentalRights #InformedConsent #MedicalFreedom #InformedChoiceIowa

📣 📣SF304, a bill REMOVING minor consent for sexually transmitted disease vaccines needs to pass the floor of the Iowa House. ✉️Email leadership and your representative and urge the to put this on the debate schedule and pass it before session ends! ‼️Iowa is one of only 11 states with this loophole allowing for minors to consent to vaccines against sexually transmitted diseases without parental consent requirements. Do we really want to be a part of this group that includes California, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Vermont, & Washington? Talking Points: 📍This bill will ensure parental consent is REQUIRED for all vaccines on the childhood schedule, removing the ability for children to consent to HPV and HepB as they are currently allowed to do. 📍For every other vaccine on the schedule a parent must provide consent, why not these? 📍Parents have the ultimate authority in deciding what medical preventions for STD's, especially vaccinations, are beneficial to their children. 📍Federal law under the NCVIA lays out that parents must receive the Vaccine Information Statement and provide consent for all vaccines on the childhood schedule. Both HPV and HepB are on the CDC childhood schedule under NCVIA. 📍Children have received the HPV vaccination without their parents knowledge or consent in Iowa. 📍Minors receiving these without parental knowledge could lead to catastrophic consequences if an adverse event occurs. 📍Tell your vaccine injury story if you or your child were injured by the HPV or HepB vaccine. 🚨 For decades, many non-speaking autistic individuals were assumed to have little or no cognitive ability. Then some began communicating through spelling. One of them is Elizabeth Bonker - a non-speaking autistic woman who typed her way to becoming valedictorian of Rollins College and now serves on the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee advising the U.S. government. On The HighWire, Elizabeth joins Dawnmarie, founder of the Spellers Freedom Foundation, to discuss a growing fight over the right of non-speakers to access spelling-based communication. Thousands of non-speaking individuals lack reliable motor control for speech, meaning spelling could unlock voices that have been silent for years. But families say state agencies are issuing blanket denials for communication services involving typing or spelling, despite the Americans with Disabilities Act guaranteeing the right to a person’s most effective form of communication. Elizabeth warns that powerful interests inside the disability system are resisting change. “The corporate interests who make money on keeping us disabled have infiltrated disability offices across the country to silence us.” Now families are fighting to restore the New York Communication Bill of Rights and protect access to the tools that allow non-speakers to communicate. Because, as Elizabeth puts it: “Communication is a human right.” 👇 Watch the full conversation from Episode 470 at TheHighWire.com

The Vote for Health Freedom Campaign with @standforhealth1 is underway and endorsements are beginning to roll out for the June 2 primary in Iowa! They announced their first endorsement a few weeks ago endorsing @ZachLahn for Iowa Governor. Below is the interview Executive Director Leah Wilson did with Zach in early March about his vision for Iowa and medical freedom. We encourage all Iowans to talk to the candidates about what medical freedom means to them, and what they plan to do in regards to the state of healthcare quality and freedom of choice, before voting on June 2. Get engaged, get active, and help health freedom candidates get elected! askdrwilson.libsyn.com/ep-262-the-fig…... #InformedChoiceIowa #MAHA #Informedconsent #NoMedicalMandates #standforhealthfreedom #medicalfreedomcoalition

Big news for Iowa! HF571 has officially passed the House and is now headed to the Governor’s desk. Thank you to Representative Gustoff for leading the bill on the House floor and to Senator Taylor, the lead sponsor, for guiding it through the Senate. We appreciate your leadership in advancing this legislation. We also want to thank Alliance Defending Freedom for their help in crafting this bill. HF571 protects the conscientious rights of healthcare providers, ensuring they cannot be forced to participate in services that violate their ethical, moral, or religious beliefs. It also includes important protections against discrimination, along with whistleblower and free speech safeguards. A strong step forward for protecting providers and preserving integrity in healthcare. #InformedChoiceIowa #MedicalFreedom #ProtectProviders #HealthcareRights #IowaLegislature

HF2694 Emergency Powers Reform passed committee. Despite discussions about removing it, the language preventing mandated vaccinations during an emergency remains in the bill. A budget amendment was also added, which may impact the trajectory of the bill moving forward. Thank you to everyone who contacted Chairman Rozenboom and members of the committee. We will continue to monitor this closely as it progresses.

Emergency powers bill is deferred until this afternoon while the amendment to strike “cannot require vaccinations” from the bill is drawn up. The Senate wishes to continue with the current language “a governor or public health director can force test, force treat, for test you”. Iowans have taken the time to call and email, and those voices deserve to be heard. We hope Chairman Rozenboom and the entire Senate takes that into account as this moves forward.

URGENT!!! State Government committee chairman Ken Rozenboom plans to amend the emergency powers bill, hf2694, by striking out the section that prevents a Governor from force vaccinating the people. EMAIL him and tell him to keep that in the bill! A Governor has zero authority over what medical treatments or preventatives we put into our body! Are we going to mandate exercise and healthy eating next in order to lower risk factors contributing to infectious illness? No. Email the chairman or the entire committee who will consider this bill tomorrow (emails in comments) Ken.rozenboom@legis.iowa.gov
