We need to remake our law schools. And we need to do it now. Many of us with a legal background have been stunned by the willingness of numerous lower court judges to simply disregard the law and to spout political rants from the bench. Both Biden and Obama did tremendous damage to this country, but perhaps nowhere as much as their appointments of extreme radicals to the lower court benches. These judges' own words make clear that they see themselves as social justice activists first, and jurists second. But where did all of these lawless judges come from? The Alt Left radicalization of law school faculty over the last couple of decades is one of the biggest untold stories - - and one of the greatest threats we face going forward. Many seasoned lawyers would find the curriculum and content that is now taught in law schools utterly unrecognizable. Like a dangerous virus, these law schools, led by hyper-progressive academics, have been replicating legions of Alt Left lawyers who are becoming judges and government officials. They have no respect for our Constitution and the western notion that even your political opponents are entitled to due process. If you doubt this, I would respectfully remind you of the Left's efforts to imprison their main political opponent and their crusade to remove him from the ballot in numerous states - all aided by numerous Alt Left judges. I would also remind you of the unprecedented prosecution and imprisonment of numerous peaceful January 6 protesters. These new wave judges could care less about the law. Instead, they have been baptized in the holy fire of social justice, and have pledged allegiance to their own untethered sense of self-righteousness and political emotion. This state of affairs cannot continue for long before something irreparable breaks. The Trump administration and Congress need to act decisively, while they still can, to restore political balance to all law schools that receive federal funds. Among other things, they need to ensure that the faculty in these law schools are not closed shops that exclude anyone who does not worship at the progressive altar. They also need to set up a law school accreditation process that does not rely on the approval of the far Left American Bar Association (ABA). The time to act now. In fact, this may be the last time to act for a long time.

There was literally no water in the fire hydrants - during fire season,. A mayor can get a lot of things wrong – – but not that. Not sure that Spencer Pratt will do a good job, but he can’t possibly be as incompetent as Bass or the other fringe candidate who is running. That’s why he should win.

I’m not a politician. And the reason my campaign has become so popular amongst common sense people is precisely because I don’t have any political advisors, like this clown. I just listen to moms in South Central and San Pedro, and I say what’s what. These politicos are just mad because they’re about to be out of the job.

Respectfully, the distinction you’re making is not entirely accurate given the fungible nature of money. Criminal fines that are paid to the United States are used to fund the government. If those fines are not paid, the government is funded with additional tax dollars. During the Biden and Obama administration, corporations that agreed to pay criminal fines to the government were given “credit” for funding Democrat causes instead of paying those fines. Because those fines did not go to fund the government, it ended up costing taxpayer dollars. In terms of this being true, I encourage you to just do a little research and you’ll see that it is. In fact, there was specific legislation that was designed to address this. But Democrats opposed this because it cut off funding to their special interest groups and NGOs. Those are some of the very same Democrats are now complaining about a the weaponization settlement fund. I think this mechanism is bad for the country, regardless of who does it. But let’s not pretend that this originated with Donald Trump – – because it didn’t. Not even close. This is an issue that is better examined without wearing a partisan hat - because both sides have now done it.

@informedviewer @ewarren If what you say is true, and I don’t believe it is true the way you represented it, it was corporate money not my tax payer dollars. Big difference in when GOP/T are busy cutting services for needy people all across this country.

My Ban Presidential Plunder of Taxpayer Funds Act would make it illegal for a sitting president or VP to receive settlement payments from the federal government they control—or to direct those payments to a third party. We CANNOT allow this abuse of power.

I’m not a fan of the way that this issue was handled. Structurally, this settlement fund is a problem for both Democrat and Republican presidents. But let’s remember, Democrats literally hunted the president and his family on the most bogus of charges for eight years - trying both too imprison and bankrupt him, as well as remove him from the ballot. And every single one of those prosecutorial efforts was without merit and came to nothing. And before people start whining about the 34 “convictions” in New York, I will just point out that those charges were so bogus that the judge - who expressed his dislike for Trump in numerous ways - did not sentence the former president to a single day in jail. I would also remind them that those convictions are still subject to appeal – – and will likely be reversed due to numerous errors and incorrect rulings by the judge. Finally, I will point out that after repeatedly promising that he would not pardon his own son, Joe Biden pardoned not only his son, bur his brother too. So, perhaps tone down the demagoguery just a touch, Chris Murphy.

Morning everyone. Do you know that your President just exempted himself, his family, and all his family's companies from our tax laws? You are subject to the law. Now he is not. No one should not pretend this is okay or normal. It's an ongoing constitutional crisis.

@zadiginfinity @ewarren I would be for an even handed legislation that stops both sides from doing this. But it’s important to be clear where and how this started. It’s her hypocrisy not the underlying policy that I object to.

Have you considered that many of those same “educated” people think: 1. Men can be women. 2. Open borders are a good idea. 3. Cashless bail is a wonderful idea for violent repeat criminals. In today’s world, some ideas are so foolish that only a highly “educated”person – – far removed from reality – – can have them.

@John_Lucas_I @shipwreckedcrew Simple answer: They don’t. At some stage, this publicity stunt case will be thrown out for lack of standing. It should be thrown out at the district district court level, but given that it’s DC… we’ll have to see.

100% true. It was the Miller case that Judge Nichols dismissed the 1512 count first, and Nick Smith did the lion's share of the work. The Fisher case -- another case dismissed by Judge Nichols -- is the one the Supreme Court opted to hear mostly because it has an experienced Supreme Court practitioner attached to the brief.
Real Cynthia Hughes@cynthfromjersey

Nick Smith wrote the appeal on behalf of the Garrett Miller case long before SCOTUS overturned the 1512. That appeal was upheld by Judge Nichols and the 1512 was dropped against Garrett. Nicks appeal is the reason we got to the Supreme Court. We got notebooks too @MacFarlaneNews

Of course, law “professor” Barb McQuade was silent when the DOJ under both the Obama and Biden administrations strong-armed corporate America to pay funds to support Democrat advocacy groups as part of DOJ settlements. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the issue, I suggest you look up settlement payments that were made to the Democrat illegal immigrant advocacy group, La Raza. And that’s just one example. There were plenty of other DOJ forced payments to additional Democrat NGOs. Somehow, that was not problematic. Ironically, the DOJ in the first Trump administration formally put an end to those types of settlements. But Biden and his handlers reinstituted the practice during his tenure. Now, Democrat legal “experts” are pretending like this is something unprecedented. How predictable.

Congress, the ball is in your court. Pass a bill with a veto-proof majority to ban our taxpayer dollars from being spent on bogus “weaponization” claims. You control the power of the purse. nytimes.com/2026/05/21/us/…

Lots of “traditional “conservatives are attacking Trump as “vindictive” or “petulant” for the way he’s gone after people like MTG, Boebert and Massie for “crossing“ his agenda. But do any of those very same conservatives actually think that these three grandstanders are remotely good for the Republican party? This is a necessary culling of the weak-minded. Nothing more.

She signed the Epstein Discharge Petition. That provided Dems with an ongoing Point of Attack that is going to carry through the mid-terms. Only her, MTG and Mace. They defied the entire caucus and the WH.
JB@JLikesSports

@shipwreckedcrew Boebert was very gracious toward Trump when she endorsed Massie, and Trump still went nuclear on her. So yeah, any minor slight and he acts like a petulant child. Meanwhile his broken promises on war and affordability are going to lead to a bloodbath for Republicans in Nov.

@BarackObama Nothing says ‘winning’ like an Obama endorsement in Georgia. Tellingly, Obama’s two Georgia Supreme Court nominees went down in flames last night. Congrats on another flawless victory lap, Barack. Your magic never fails . . . to deliver for the other side.

The decisions made by state supreme courts touch every part of our lives. And that’s especially important when voting rights and basic freedoms are being challenged. Today, voters in Georgia can stand up for fairness and integrity by electing Miracle Rankin and Jen Jordan to Georgia’s Supreme Court. Let’s get this one right, Georgia. To be clear, it’s the Democrat Congressional Black Caucus. Black members of Congress who are Republican are excluded from joining this group . . . by Democrats. But don’t expect to see that in the ABC headline.

@margbrennan . . . hysterical to see Margaret Brennan post this after ludicrously arguing on national TV, just a few months ago, that free speech was used to foster the holocaust. You gotta wonder if @bariweiss is going to continue to subsidize hypocritical simpletons like Margaret Brennan.
