@taysdeadlypen @capricorniia All this happened in the show not the book so direct this to Jacob Tierney? Shane never apologizes for leaving. Vegas is not as big of a deal in the book and Ilya doesn’t so much ghost him as they’re mutually just not in contact after Sochi. Ilya does fix shit in TLG.

@capricorniia To add to your point, why was Shane made to apologize for freaking out & leaving & is expected to "fix what he did wrong" in TLG but Ilya NEVER apologized for PURPOSELY hurting Shane in Vegas to try to push him away or ghosting or any of the other harsh ways he spoke to Shane?

People being like “fic writers explore this thing more than Rachel Reid does!!” Yes, this is the point of fic?? To dive into something the canon does not, or to make a different spin on it. Weird to hold it against the author that people explore gaps in canon 🤷‍♀️

@itsayreamon Maybe I’m the weird one but particularly the one where she’s like “Shane is stupid” reads to me like “stupid (affectionate)” and just a variant of “my character does what he/she likes and I’m just here for the ride”

she literally point blank flat out word for word is saying “ilya isnt communicating his issues which is part of the reason why shane isn’t realizing what’s wrong” and ppl in the quotes are like “DID THIS BITCH REALLY JUST SAY SHANE IS WRONG WHEN ITS ILYA WHOS NOT COMMUNICATING?”

one thing that does kinda make me mad is how jacob gets praised for things that came from rachel but rachel gets blamed for things that are changes jacob made (re. shane not appearing to know russia is homophobic)

I’ve become so obsessed with fics set in the immediate time after the cottage. Like early relationship navigation times!! It’s like crack to me
