"When I went to the CJP protest, I never expected I'd be shot [by a pellet gun]. I thought pellet guns were used only in Kashmir. I had gone to take part in the march to Parliament. Amid the tear gas shelling during the clash between protesters and police near Jantar Mantar, I was hit." These are the words of a 25-year-old protester who says he was shot by a pellet gun during the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) Chalo Sansad march on July 20 near Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. The Delhi resident, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, recounted the incident in a conversation with India Today Digital on Thursday and said his medical records from Safdarjung Hospital mention pellet wounds. #JantarMantar #ChaloSansad #Protest #DelhiProtest #PelletInjury #PoliceClash | @sardesairajdeep | @InkSleuth

indiatoday.in/india/story/de… Pellet guns, infamous for their use in Jammu & Kashmir, have now been used in Delhi. I spoke to a protester whose wounds and medico-legal records prove he was hit by pellets during the CJP's march to Parliament.

Our journalist was there at CJP's protest site at Jantar Mantar on the night of July 20. He climbed onto the stage and asked Abhijeet Dipke if there was a plan to march to Parliament on Tuesday. Dipke answered in the affirmative. The journalist sought his confirmation on this. Dipke confirmed, and added: "Bilkul likho". Dipke also enquired which media outlet he was from. Our journalist spoke to other CJP members too. You might have changed your plan, and you are well within your rights to do so, but you have no right to call our report, based on Dipke's remarks, misinformation.

Opinion | Nissim Ezekiel, in his poem, 'A Morning Walk', called Mumbai, "Barbaric city sick with slums, / Deprived of seasons, blessed with rains..." Blessed with rains, yes. But also burdened by a monsoon that, year after year, exposes the city's weakest infrastructure and exacts the highest price from its residents. | Writers Anand Singh (@InkSleuth) Read More: intdy.in/q88qou #Mumbai #MumbaiRains #Rainfall

The first person I met at the former Mumbai headquarters of the Indian National Congress wanted to make one thing clear. "This is not the brothel," he said. Varanasi Municipal Corporation's decision to relocate meat, fish and poultry shops to the city's outskirts has triggered debate over access and livelihoods in the temple city.
