@theDWshow I’m wondering if he’s on his way out of the show and is just lobbing in a hand-grenade as a final act of defiance.

The Doctor Who Show 🇦🇺
Never in my wildest dreams, when RTD stepped away from Doctor Who, and successfully handed the keys to Moffat, did I think he would a) Ever return and, b) Come to be universally known as the wrecker of the series. You never know what's around the corner in life, do you?

@theDWshow @AvatarKyber Not just fans; creatives, industry folk, journalists all have been blowing smoke up his royal derrière. I think he genuinely thinks he’s made a good show and that his messaging is right. He’s never really had to self reflect because people constantly tell him he’s fab

I truly think we as a fanbase bear some responsibility for this. One big factor why we were so excited to have him back after Chibnall was cos of his work SINCE Doctor Who. But I think we spent 15 years blowing so much smoke up his ass for Midnight he got overzealous?

@inkyphil Of course it’s our fault. RTD is ‘the best writer in the world’ (his words) so, if we thinkit’s shite we are the ones who are ‘wrong’ & it’s all our fault. We should be grateful for such eps as SPACE BABIES, EMPIRE OF DEATH & REALITY WAR. They are a work of genius obviously …

When is RTD finally going to f**k off & leave our fave TV show alone? His writing is dreadful & his ego is bigger than Trump’s. The RTD2 era failed because viewers didn’t like his version of the show, switched off in their millions & still he refuses to admit it’s his fault!

“Doctor Who” boss Russell T Davies warns audiences that X is a "hate site" for fandoms. "That online voice, which is hostile, exists on X, which is a hate site. We shouldn’t be surprised to find hatred on it, because it’s a hate site … It’s very dangerously assumed that that is the fan voice... Fandom is creative and brilliant and fun, but it’s all getting soured,” he said, adding: “Turn those phones off for anyone under 16, chuck them in the bin. I literally am evangelical about it.” variety.com/2026/tv/global…

We have spent £180m on plans for a tunnel under Stonehenge. The project is now scrapped. You can be for a tunnel & think spending is a good idea (even if you think the cost of planning is silly). You can be against a tunnel & think spending is a bad idea. But *nobody* can be for spending on this scale with zero result. And yet that is a peculiarly British outcome. Nobody will be reprimanded. Nobody will see their career affected. But that’s £180m of taxpayer money just wazzed up the wall. Totally without repercussions. Multiply this by airport expansions & train route plans and Thames crossings and power stations and other examples you can think of yourself, and… soon you’re talking serious money.

GB News has turned into the Reform channel. After a New World investigation found hundreds of breaches of the rules on accuracy and impartiality, Ofcom has failed to do its job and act. We've seen what Fox News has done to politics in the US. We can't let it happen here.

@BBCr4today @BBCPolitics Introducing fundamental change like this without it being in a manifesto and sneaking it through a private members bill undermines trust in politics much more

More than 100 Labour MPs have warned that failing to pass assisted dying legislation would undermine trust in politics. Peter Prinsley, who co-ordinated the move, says the House of Lords - where the bill is currently being debated - should not 'impede' laws. Opponents warn the bill is flawed and any attempt to push it through would be unsafe.

@FUDdaily They switched from ‘blame the EU’ to ‘blame the civil service’. I’m sure it does need some reform but you need a plan - if I were hoping to form a govt I’d be talking to ex-civil servants to understand the issues and understand what ‘good’ looks like

Reform's policy on the civil service is based on Tory mythology. The Tories blame the civil service for their own underachievement and lack of political will - which was as much to do with their own lack of serious policy in 2019. Reform is just perpetuating the cycle. They will start off by treating civil servants as the enemy, abuse them and then complain at the strained relationship. In reality, a good civil servant (they're not all woke lefties) is someone who can help you navigate complex systems. Without them, outsiders have no hope of understanding the policy landscape, especially when they've done no research of their own. One of the main reasons civil servants are "obstructive" is because ministers are often morons with unrealistic ideas and counterprodcutive approaches. Ministers steam in without really knowing how the system works, demanding the impractical without thinking through the consequences, and throw tantrums when the real world does not conform to their imagination. (See Pritti Patel). Rather than admit they're incompetent and don't understand their brief, they lash out at the people who work for them.
Pete North@FUDdaily

Another slop policy. For starters, it will end up being Farage's drinking buddies and party functionaries, just like when Boris Johnson did the same, and they won't have the first idea how to direct large government departments so they will need their own civil service sherpa - so all you've actually done is insert a layer of cronyism. What you get then is Farage's halfwits barking orders at civil servants with nothing approaching serious policy to direct them, resulting in the same adversarial relationship, leading to the exact same results, and then they'll default to blaming the civil service for accomplishing fuck all with power.

This is @Tesco Ollerton. At the beginning of the week diesel was 150p, hiked up from the previous week. At lunchtime today it was 154p. This afternoon 156.9p. Its just one of many. So all power to @RachelReevesMP to stop this blatant profiteering.

It must be so easy to earn a living as a rent-a-gob reactionary pro-war “conservative”. These people are on autopilot. Stuff like this is why the left always wins in the end.

The worrying thing about this country is how childishly celebrity politics has become . The accolades about Hanna Spencer's maiden speech in Parliament, simply because she used Google to list some memorable women on International Women's' Day is dumbfounding ! Dressed like a children's entertainer with a ghastly colour scheme that looks like she can't make her mind up what colour to paint the nursery was just one of her many eclectic outfits she's worn so far . The 80/20 wool mix Axminster carpet she wore as a coat and the borrowed headscarf from Princess Anne so she could get in the foyer of a mosque during her campaigning where some of the highlights of her piercing insight Is she a plumber ? I can only find trace of her installing overpriced heat pumps that can be in your home with 36 crippling installments part of her Green energy initiative. They work just fine as long as you keep your coat on. Indoors during a cold spell Thank God they printed their propaganda in Urdu , a game changer in Gorton. They managed to forget to include the multiple genders, trans stuff like, your uncle Bill is now your aunty Pauline get used to it ! legalising all class A drugs. Diminishing meat consumption, and concentrated on a message of Farage man bad he'll stop your benefits, deport your nanna and healthcare will be a million quid a week! Still congratulations are in order as she did win
