The comments on Aslıhan’s latest IG post really show how toxic the internet can get. Bullying a woman and calling it “just having fun” is sad. The irony of having an actress as your profile pic and preaching “feminism,” yet dragging another woman for simply living her life just doesn’t add up. It says more about you than anything else.

There’s a difference between fiction and reality and that’s what some of you keep missing. I criticize Nisan (the character) it has nothing to do with Demet, just like comments about Esref aren’t about the actor. What Aslıhan is facing isn’t criticism, it’s bullying. Learn the difference. But sure, whatever helps you sleep at night 🙂

Some of y’all are missing the point. The disappointment with Nisan isn’t because she’s a woman, it’s because of how she treats Esref. She shows little accountability for her own actions, yet tells the man who has repeatedly sacrificed and risked his life for her to “die” and “rot in prison.” That kind of reaction is what frustrates viewers. If Esref spoke to her that way, people would immediately condemn him and call it cruel or abusive. But when it comes from her, many try to excuse it or shift the blame entirely onto him. That’s why the criticism exists. it’s about the double standard and the lack of accountability, not her gender. #EşrefRüya #EsSan
