@matthewremski Interesting. I find it hard to discern cause & effect in this linking of individual to group/social structure & psycho-social with larger societal systems.

The toxic positivist might be tone deaf and narcissistic. But they are also performing the shameful and tortured logic that allows everything to continue as-is. At scale, they sanctify the economy, and I think it’s palpable how soulless it is to play that role. /end

It feels like there’s solid literacy out there now regarding “toxic positivity” in wellness/spiritual/coaching cultures. Lots of think pieces have done well to highlight the negative effects of suppression, bypassing, and how the tyranny of happiness is enforced. Great, but, /1

We can relate to this! Yoga posture practice is a nice way to do "real things". But what about doing real things and not managing for a goal? #hmmmm #Yogasana #yogapractice #meditation

Doing real things also affords you the experience of living in a smaller and simpler world, if only for a few hours. Compare this to the complex, frantic, frenetic, and interconnected digital environment that occupies so much of a knowledge worker's life these days...
