@lukechampine I always thought it was a fake Silicon Valley stereotype. People around me are careful about the number of coffees they drink per day. Some people are drinking a Red Bull, maybe even two per day and those are the more extreme cases I've seen.

I don't know anyone who regularly takes Adderall/modafinil/etc. Even the caffeine usage I've observed is pretty tame -- no one is crushing 6 Red Bulls a day. Am I in a bubble, or is "stimulant use in tech" overblown?

Is this what the world is now? Cheap PR stunts and no substance required? Both Trump and Musk sure make it look like that. A lot of bravado and big words and you suddenly rally the masses.

It seems it's enough for TwitterBoy to say "I did this!" for a bunch of people to cheer on him and take his words at face value without checking. This thread is a good example of why that's a bad idea.
