"The Local" - Emperor of the North in Lego Long before I published my model of Oregon Pacific & Eastern #19 in December 2022, I've been working on modeling the train seen behind it in "Emperor of the North". Today, I'm delighted to share the first milestone of those efforts.

I’ve also curated a small collection of genuine historic pieces (and some personal items) to add context. The desk may no longer serve its original purpose, but it continues to tell the Nickel Plate story, even from afar.

Preservation isn't always steam and steel. In late 2024, I acquired a genuine piece of railroad history: the desk from the Nickel Plate Road depot in Hammond, Indiana. After thorough cleaning and careful reassembly, it’s now an interpretive historic piece of my collection.
