Saw a barista at Starbucks yesterday wearing the same CGM as me. Slowly lifted my sleeve to reveal mine and lasers shot out of both our transmitters, meeting in the middle to create a marvelous light show for all to enjoy, and we are now connected for life. Nature is beautiful.

Sorry to be depressing on main but the thought of living the rest of my life with diabetes just feels so heavy. Like I’ve learned everything I could from the past 26 years with it. Give me a healthy pancreas and let someone else have the chronic illness character development now.

Health insurance is cool because you get to pay a bunch of money each month for nothing, and then if something happens to you, you pay a bunch more.

Had the unicorn of diabetic airport experiences today. No lunchbox with insulin pulled out of my backpack or supplies looked at (which is what typically happens for me), instead my backpack just…… went right on through? I almost turned around and was like, but are you sure????

I did, however, unknowingly enter the body scanner with a dog poop bag and a singular Tums in my pocket and got called out so that was embarrassing 🤪

for a while I was like no. i’m not angry about my chronic illness anymore. i’m evolved. (spoiler alert: this lasted for about 5 months.) could only take so many denials and phone calls and bills I shouldn’t have to pay before I was once again filled with uncontrollable rage.

My next diaversary honestly should be a national holiday because I’m the eighth wonder of the world at this point. There is literally no reason why I shouldn’t be dead. I was not born, I crawled up from hell as an infant to reign chaos and defy science.

Tip for normies: maybe don’t tell a t1d that their financial troubles can be solved by “budgeting better” when they’re constantly getting slammed with $500+ in medical bills every month

A stem-cell transplant that requires you to take immune-suppressing, anti-rejection drugs for life is not a “cure” for Type 1 diabetes. Love, A type 1 diabetic.

Gentle reminder that most disabled people can’t leave the US. Countries don’t want to take in disabled, chronically ill & “high cost health users”. There are serious financial barriers to moving - leaving most people behind Spare a thought for them tonight - people are scared.

IDK i think when an election has many many innocent people fearing for their lives or contemplating suicide something might be very very wrong
