🌐 InterLink Chain : Comment fonctionne réellement le consensus des validateurs 🔹 Le rôle des validateurs Un validateur sur InterLink Chain remplit simultanément trois fonctions : • proposer des blocs • vérifier les blocs proposés par les autres • signer les votes de finalité Chaque validateur actif participe à ces trois phases lors de chaque cycle de consensus. Le temps de disponibilité (uptime) n’est pas optionnel. Un validateur hors ligne réduit la taille de l’ensemble actif. Une indisponibilité prolongée dégrade les performances du réseau avant même d’atteindre un seuil critique. ➡️ L’uptime est un engagement envers la sécurité du réseau, pas seulement une question économique. 🔹 Proposition et vérification des blocs Les droits de proposition tournent entre les validateurs actifs selon leur niveau de stake. Lorsqu’il est sélectionné, le proposeur : • assemble un bloc • exécute toutes les transactions • calcule le state root • diffuse le bloc au réseau dans un délai strict Ensuite, tous les autres validateurs réexécutent indépendamment chaque transaction. Toute transition d’état invalide ou mauvais ordre de transaction est détecté à cette étape. Les validateurs votent ensuite sur le résultat. ➡️ Lorsque les 2/3 de l’ensemble actif approuvent le bloc, celui-ci passe aux étapes : • Lock • puis Finalize ⚡ Finalité déterministe en 3 à 5 secondes. Pas probabiliste. Irréversible. 🔹 Le système de slashing Deux comportements sont sanctionnés : 1. Équivocation Signer deux blocs différents pour le même round. ➡️ Conséquences : • slash immédiat important • exclusion du set actif 2. Échec de disponibilité (liveness failure) Temps hors ligne prolongé sous le seuil minimal de participation. ➡️ Pénalité plus légère mais toujours appliquée. Tous les montants slashés sont brûlés. • non redistribués • non envoyés à une trésorerie • définitivement retirés de l’offre 🔹 La délégation en pratique Le stake délégué augmente le poids total du validateur, influençant : • la fréquence de proposition • le pouvoir de vote Les délégateurs reçoivent des récompenses proportionnelles à leur part de stake, moins la commission du validateur. ⚠️ Si le validateur est slashé, le délégateur l’est aussi proportionnellement. ➡️ Il n’existe aucune protection entre les performances du validateur et le délégateur. Le retrait du stake (unbonding) n’est pas instantané. Pendant cette période : • le stake reste slashable • si une faute est découverte après coup Cette fenêtre sert de délai de preuve pour le protocole. 🔹 Un marché compétitif des validateurs Les validateurs se concurrencent selon : • leur uptime • leur commission • leur historique de slashing Le protocole applique les règles. Le marché distribue le capital. ➡️ Aucune autorité centrale ne décide quels validateurs gagnent. Ceci constitue la couche d’infrastructure. InterLink Chain: How Validator Consensus Actually Works The Validator Role A validator on InterLink Chain handles three responsibilities simultaneously: proposing blocks, verifying blocks proposed by others, and signing finality votes. Every active validator participates in all three phases of every consensus round. Uptime is not optional. A validator that goes offline reduces the active set size. Sustained downtime degrades network performance before it ever reaches a critical threshold. Uptime is a network security commitment, not just an economic one. Block Proposal and Verification Proposal rights rotate across the active set, weighted by stake. When selected, the proposer assembles a block, executes all transactions, computes the state root, and broadcasts to the validator set within a strict timeout window. Every other validator then independently re-executes every transaction. Invalid state transitions or incorrect ordering get caught here. Validators vote on the result. When 2/3 of the active set approves, the block moves to Lock, then Finalize. Deterministic finality in 3 to 5 seconds. Not probabilistic. Irreversible. Slashing Mechanics Two slashable offenses exist. Equivocation: signing two different blocks for the same round. Triggers immediate large slash and removal from the active set. Liveness failure: sustained downtime below the minimum participation threshold. Treated less severely but still penalized. All slashed amounts are burned. Not redistributed. Not sent to a treasury. Permanently removed from supply. Delegation in Practice Delegated stake adds to the validator’s total weight, affecting proposal frequency and voting influence. Delegators earn rewards proportional to their share of the validator’s stake minus commission. If the validator is slashed, the delegator is slashed proportionally. No shield exists between delegator and validator performance. Unbonding is not instant. Stake in the unbonding queue remains slashable for misbehavior that occurred during the bonded period. The unbonding window is the protocol’s evidence submission window. The Competitive Validator Market Validators compete for delegation through uptime history, commission rate, and slash record. The protocol enforces the rules. The market allocates the capital. No central authority decides which validators win. This is the infrastructure layer.
