This is the face of a zebrafish embryo fighting a lethal fungal infection that was acquired after damage to its epithelial surface. This is very similar to the type of fungal infections observed in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy or burn victims.

i can only hope that 2025 will be a sea change. i know it looks like a dark time for many and i also hope that doesn't come to fruition as so many of us fear. i can only hope for positive change, try to be a force for positive change in the world, and really hope i catch a break.

2024 was, without question, the absolute worst year of my life. i've struggled with posting this as i haven't talked about 90% of the things that happened this year. i have had so much personal and professional loss but yet survived. but it will take a long time to recover.
