Intrepid American Patriot retweetledi

Think Trump “betrayed” you? Read this first.
Some people are mad about gas prices and cost of living and saying Trump sold them out. I get it - everything still feels expensive. But you need to understand how an economy actually works.
This isn’t a light switch. It’s a cargo ship. It takes time to turn.
WHAT TRUMP INHERITED (2025)
He did NOT inherit cheap prices. He inherited high prices locked into the system from 2021–2024 inflation.
When Biden took office:
~ Inflation ~1.2%
~ Gas ~ $2.39
~ Prices overall much lower
When Trump took office (2025):
~ Prices already ~20% higher than 2021
~ Gas had hit $5 during Biden years
~ Food up 20–25%
~ Real wages had fallen
~ Savings rates dropped
IMPORTANT: Even when inflation drops, prices don’t go back down - they just stop rising as fast.
BIDEN YEARS (2021–2025)
What actually caused the pain people feel now:
~ Massive government spending
~ Supply chain crisis
~ Energy restrictions
~ Russia/Ukraine war
~ Inflation peaked at 9.1%
~ Prices rose ~20% overall
~ Gas hit $5
~ Groceries up 20–25%
~ Real wages went backwards
THAT’S WHERE THE COST OF LIVING PAIN CAME FROM.
TRUMP FIRST 14 MONTHS (2025–2026)
Now look at the direction since he came back:
~ Inflation down to ~2.4%
~ Gas around mid $3 range (well below $5 peak)
~ Unemployment ~4.4% (still very low)
~ GDP growth strong in 2025
~ Wages rising faster than inflation again
~ Manufacturing and energy investment rising
~ Stock market hitting highs
~ Domestic oil production rising again
Macro economy is improving first.
Local prices come later.
WHY YOU DON’T FEEL IT YET
This is the part people don’t understand:
~ Stores locked into supply contracts
~ Rent adjusts slowly
~ Wages adjust slowly
~ State taxes & regulations affect local prices
~ Global events affect oil prices
~ Food prices lag inflation by 12–24 months
Inflation goes down first.
Then wages rise.
Then prices stabilize.
Then people feel relief.
We are currently in stage 1–2, not stage 4.
BOTTOM LINE
Trump didn’t betray anyone.
He inherited:
~High prices
~ Global instability
~ Inflation damage already done
What he’s done so far:
~ Brought inflation way down
~ Increased energy production
~ Kept unemployment low
~ Growing the economy
~ Real wages rising again
Economies take years to fix, not months.
But the direction right now is very clearly up, not down.
FACTS OVER FEELINGS.
