@maicaronns But I've seen some promising ones. One was about Power/Denji relationship which is kinda underanalysed IMO

@maicaronns Absolutely, just trying to look good by saying mean things about the work and its fans is a big part of it. Also when youtubers do it for their own grifter purposes it's just super infuriating. I've yet to watch a single "analysis" video on csm cuz you never know

@maicaronns This and their expectations, often really misguided ones. Like, I get wanting to see some things and never seeing it, I myself feel lil weird about Blood Devil resolution or Asa's for example, but then they cope by saying it's all super bad

@maicaronns <...> but this isn't the end of the world (hehe), it's still good old Fujimoto. Things are way too much about hype, discourse and stupid fandom competition and too little about the work itself

@maicaronns Yeah, I can only imagine... I guess it's a different experience reading stuff weekly, but still the fandom went waaaay too overboard with negativity esp for the last year or so, IMO. I didn't enjoy Aging and War arcs as much as everything before that, but <...>

@maicaronns Ugh I literally had the perfect piece of fiction for me right there all this time 😭 like I've heard of CSM in 2022, went "huh, interesting" and memoryholed it until the movie came out

@maicaronns Oh yeah, that's them. Tbh I'd like berserk (which I've read only the first two arcs of) to have at least a somewhat happy ending too... but if I had to guess most of the fans won't agree :/

@maicaronns Watching that ending and then reading the lyrics was literally a hit in the face with Big Sad. Incredible

I think the ending was good and worked specifically for Homelander, but pretending that this explanation for the ending doesn't actually hurt it is dumb. Homelander is what he is because he's a petulant child, not a strong man. No strong man has ever acted like that. Mussolini didn't facing execution. Saddam Hussien didn't facing execution. The IRGC leadership in Iran right now isn't. Neither did the Nazis at Nuremburg. The reason this ending bothers a lot of people is because they, like Kripke, saw Homelander as a strong man but they, unlike Kripke, aren't retarded and know that isn't how a strong man would act. Homelander was a great villain because he was never a strong man and everyone in universe knew it even as the author is painfully unaware of it somehow. It's strange that Kripke thinks every strong man is like Homelander, because none of them are.

Apparently one of my all time favourite history-themed blog authors who died a few years ago turned out to be an infamous murderer in hiding. Can't make this shit up. Don't know what to make of this, quite frankly. I really liked the guy
