We've had elevated H2S and large numbers of SmellPGH reports the last couple days. This is not cool. We've hit twice the number of exceedances of the H2S standard compared to this time last year. It really stinks around here and it isn't healthy for Allegheny County.

A new study links air pollution in the Pittsburgh region to up to 3,500 deaths in 2019. The research, supported by the Endowments, also found connections to premature births, low birth weight & childhood cognitive impacts: alleghenyfront.org/pittsburgh-stu… @BreatheProject

The stench is back, at least at my house. VOC’s spiking. Higher than this morning. And tha was bad enough to wake me up with the foul odors. 🤢 #airquality #stinkburgh #pittsburgh

@CoreyOConnorPA @BreatheProject Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) levels have been VERY elevated this AM. And it smells like it STILL at my house. The stench hasn't broken. Weather forecast indicates to my eyes that it might blow out by 1pm today. Until then, I'm holding my nose. @BreatheProject @seeingclearlya1

🎼🎶It's beginning to look a lot like a weather inversion. Image shows Edgar Thomson Plant engulfed in low lying clouds. Pollution also gets trapped with the low-lying air. We have inversions often in Pittsburgh, but not usually so visually clear. 🎼🎶

#Stinkburgh Alert ‼️ I haven’t smelled it this bad in a long time. Amazing sulfur and burnt plastic smell. And my Awair VOC sensor is *really* high. 🤮

What is this big bright light? This video mostly shows Nippon/US Steel's Edgar Thomson Plant, but I can't tell if the bright light is actually inside the plant grounds. Happened at about 8:53pm on 10/19/2025. (BreatheCam footage via @BreatheProject and @cmucreatelab)
