I keep seeing posts saying: “Türkiye is next.” You clearly don’t understand Türkiye. Türkiye is not a fragile proxy state. It is the heir to the Ottoman Empire — a power that ruled across three continents for centuries. And unlike artificial states drawn by colonial pens, Türkiye has civilizational depth, historical memory, and strategic instinct. This nation was forged in war. It rebuilt itself from the ashes. It survived coups, embargoes, terror waves, economic warfare, and regional chaos. And it is still standing. Stronger. Today, Türkiye produces its own drones, warships, missiles, and next-generation fighter jets. It is a decisive actor from the Black Sea to the Caucasus, from the Balkans to Africa, from the Middle East to Central Asia. Member of NATO. Candidate to the European Union. Energy corridor. Military power. Diplomatic broker. Türkiye is not “next.” Türkiye is central. And anyone who believes this nation would kneel under pressure has understood nothing about its history — or its people. As our anthem says: “Fear not! The crimson flag that waves in these skies will never fade…” That is not poetry. That is doctrine.

As Turks, we don't call Homer a Turk, or Thales, Anaximander, or any of the others TURKISH. You can barely find even one person who calls them Turkish. What we defend is that these people were ANATOLIAN and NOT GREEK – and that's the correct thing. None of these guys are GREEK like the propaganda you spread everywhere. You're just thieves. Since the Anatolian peoples and states no longer exist today, you're stealing your neighbors' successful people. People like Herodotus, Pythagoras, Diogenes, Strabo, Thales – NONE OF THEM ARE GREEK. They just wrote in Greek because it was the lingua franca of the time, and they went to the most advanced universities in Athens. For example, as a Turk today, if I write my scientific papers in English and become a professor at Oxford, calling me English would be just as ridiculous. These people are neither ethnically nor genetically Greek; they just wrote and spoke that language. Strabo was from Amasya, born in Pontus, his family was close to the Pontic royalty – he had ZERO connection to the Greeks. He lived under a state that was a Persian vassal, and 40 years later the Romans/Latins would come and conquer it. Herodotus was Carian, born under Persian rule in some part of Anatolia – ZERO connection to the Greeks. Pythagoras was the son of a Phoenician merchant – ZERO connection to Greek ethnicity. Thales was Phoenician and born in Sham (Damascus), MEANING THIS GUY WAS LEVANTINE Semitic, lived in what is today's Syria – ZERO connection to the Greeks. The founder of Stoicism, Zeno of Citium, was Cypriot and the son of a Phoenician family – ZERO connection to the Greeks. I could list 80 more like this. Of the people you know as Greek philosophers, only 23% are ethnically Greek; the rest are NOT GREEK AT ALL. That's why the statues found of these people don't even look like today's pitch-black Greeks. WE TURKS WANT THIS THEFT TO STOP. We don't call these people TURKISH – we're just telling the truth: they were ANATOLIAN. Just because their states don't exist today doesn't make them bastards. By stealing everything, they're trying to present themselves as the foundation stone of the West. You're neither the West nor the foundation – you're straight-up THIEVES. The so-called ANCIENT GREEKS you talk about ARE NOT GREEK. The Latins' biggest achievement was ROME, but you promote it like it's Greek, making profile pictures of all their leaders and LARPing. No, you're just subjects of Rome – you had NO importance in Rome. They show Alexander as Greek. NO, Alexander was MACEDONIAN. Among Alexander's Diadochi, there isn't a single Greek – they're all Macedonians. You were just the subjects he conquered – you don't own shit.

Despite Turkish ridiculous propaganda that calls even Homer a Turk, Thales, Anaximander and so many other, no Turkish ancient artefacts can be unearthed in what is today Turkey. Historical facts 1. The Ottoman-Turks, a nomadic Turkic group from Central Asia, migrated into what is today Turkey during the 13th century (AD). 2. Another medieval Turkic tribe, the Seljuks, originating from Central Asian Oghuz tribes, migrated in what is today Turkey around 1070 until the Seljuk Dynasty was dissolved in 1194. 3. Ancient people of what is today Turkey included Greeks, Armenians, Hittites, Luwians, Phrygians, Lydians, Hattians, Hurrians, many of which were being Hellenized or Romanized millennia and centuries before the Turkic tribes from Mongolia appeared in the region. | @Fascinate_Hist #Hellenism #AncientGreece #Aphrodite #Turkey

On 1 January 2026, S.Cyprus took over the presidency of the Council of the EU. Make no mistake. Under the 1960 Treaties establishing the “Republic of Cyprus”, then Cyprus accepted binding obligations not to join any political or economic union unless both Greece and Türkiye were members. From this perspective, S.Cyprus’s accession to the European Union in 2004 raises serious concerns about legality and legitimacy, as Greece was an EU member at the time while Türkiye was not, and no change was made to the relevant treaties. The accession took place without the participation or consent of the Turkish Cypriot community, one of the Republic’s co-founding partners. Furthermore, in the 2004 referenda on the UN Annan Plan, the Turkish Cypriot community voted in favor of reunification while the Greek Cypriot community voted against it; nevertheless, Turkish Cypriots continue to face political and economic isolation, highlighting a clear and ongoing unfairness.

@P1AbyPIA @BuildingMan79 You are completely missing the point. When Nazi Germany conquered Poland, it didn’t become a Polish reich, Poland became occupied. When the British empire conquered India, the English didn’t become Indians. India was under occupation and colonization.

@P1AbyPIA @BuildingMan79 Yes he did and controlled the indigenous Orthodox population through it. He also made Islam the main religion and converted churches including Agia Sofia to mosques. The Roman Empire was a Christian empire. The Muslim ottomans conquered and didn’t replace.

Well if we are talking about religious perspectives Mehmet actually let Greek Othadox Church of Roman Empire continue-under the Ottoman and it exists till this day even after the fall of the Empire also culturally and politically it was significantly different. The Renaissance starts with archeological findings in Italy - this causes not the re- establishment of Romans but the cultural resurfacing. They are not direct same power shifts

The Roman Empire did not ‘end’ in 1476 , it continued until 1453, and after Constantinople fell, the Ottoman Empire, under Mehmed II, became its de facto political successor, while later European claims were ideological - rather than continuous (ex. Byzintine naming used centuries later - ex, Mehmet the Concurer using the title as "Emperor of Rome" ) these parts are heavily propangadized by west and east in general so I understand the confusion or the radical anger lol - funny enough the very reason modern day Turkiye's demographical richness due to its very contuniation from the Roman Empire later becoming the Ottoman Empire.

As result Greek Cyppriot administration violates international law. Jeopordise the situation. This is against the Law of the sea principles, abuse of rights is forbidden!Estoppel works against those who ignored a partner’s lawful reservations not against the equal partner ..
Andreas Demetriou@Europhil2000

Let’s get the facts straight — and the law even straighter. The Republic of Cyprus is the only internationally recognised state on the island, the only UN-member government, and the only entity legally empowered to declare an EEZ or conclude maritime delimitation agreements. Full stop. Lebanon’s EEZ agreement was signed with the Republic of Cyprus, not with a fictional “joint authority,” because no such authority exists in international law. The so-called “TRNC” is recognised by exactly one country on earth — and even that recognition contradicts every UN Security Council resolution on Cyprus. So let’s talk about opposability: •You cannot claim “lack of consent” from an entity that does not exist as a subject of international law. •You cannot invoke “null and void” when the only legitimate government on the island has already acted in full accordance with UNCLOS and standard maritime practice. •And you certainly cannot invoke estoppel when the side violating international law tries to turn its own illegality into a source of “rights.” That’s not estoppel — that’s fantasy jurisprudence. What is real and legally binding: •Cyprus’ EEZ agreements (with Egypt, Israel, Lebanon), all signed by recognised coastal states. •UNCLOS, which Turkey refuses to sign yet constantly tries to reinterpret. •Sovereign rights of Cyprus, repeatedly reaffirmed by the EU, UN, and international courts. If anything worsens the situation, it is attempts to delegitimise a sovereign state’s lawful actions while promoting an illegal secessionist regime condemned by every major international body. The Republic of Cyprus isn’t “abusing rights.” It is exercising sovereign rights — the rights of the only state that international law recognises on the island. And that is not just “opposable.” That is unshakeable.
