Always fun to watch college football Saturdays from the couch, but feels weird to not be covering Tulane Football today. They start their season in week 1, however I will not be at next Saturday’s opener. Fortunately, I have some very exciting news to share 🔜 Stay tuned📺

Sources said top Pelicans officials maintained consistent communication with Mosley since he was dismissed by the Magic on May 4 and the sides formally met in person last week at the NBA draft combine in Chicago. The Pelicans believe the franchise is at a point similar to Mosley's leadership and development plan when he took over the rebuilding Magic in 2021 after a 21-win season. It led to season-by-season improvement, then playoff appearances. In Orlando, Mosley built teams anchored by strong defenses, with the Magic ranked No. 3 overall in 2023-24 and No. 2 overall in 2024-25.

BREAKING: The New Orleans Pelicans are hiring Jamahl Mosley as the franchise's new head coach on a five-year contract, sources tell ESPN. Mosley accepts the Pelicans job after five seasons in Orlando where he guided the Magic to three consecutive playoff berths.

This century, teams were 0-640 when trailing by 8+ runs in an NCAA softball tourney game. It's now 1-640. Texas Tech was down 8 runs WITH ONLY ONE OUT LEFT and somehow became the first 🤯

I just finished teaching my first class as an adjunct for @CFSTulane. Here is what I learned! 1. Students know how to use AI tools. They don’t know how to scale or validate — I wanted to provide a fresher view on AI tools than I expected most would provide. i HEAVILY encouraged them to use it at almost all costs. What I found was quite interesting. The students were very willing to use them to do stuff they didn’t want to do, but got frustrated with AI output when they were more interested or bought into the results. In the future, I’m going to basically lead of any course with HOW TO PROMPT TO SUCCEED IN THE COURSE. I think this will create a lot more buy in and iteration. 2. Education is now similar to Netflix shows. You must repeat yourself if you want to break through. — I just finished the new season of “Running Point” on Netflix. It was making me laugh how many times the main character would “tag” another character. “, you are my CFO, what should we do?” Education is now like that though. If you want the students to get a point across, you have to say it many, MANY times. 3. Sports analytics is now the entry point, not the addition — I was shocked by how often the students, who came from a host of backgrounds — legal, psych, coaching, etc — always started an argument or question with data. Whereas watching the games or highlights used to be the entry point, it seems that due to social media, data and stats is now the entry point to sports. It was super fun to teach! Thanks to everyone who made it possible!
