If you pick up two dumbbells of 10 kg, you’re lifting 10 kg in each hand. The load on each side is 10, not magically “20 kg.” In programming or logging, you’d usually just write 10 kg DBs. If someone wants to be super precise, they can say 10 kg each hand, but it’s never added together. Weighted pull-ups follow the same rule. If you weigh 50 kg and strap on 10 kg, you’re doing pull-ups with +10 kg resistance, not “60 kg pull-ups.” The bodyweight is always there; the external load is what’s written down. That’s why in training logs or programs, it’ll say something like Pull-ups +10 kg or BW +10 kg. Basically: - Dumbbells = weight per hand. - Bodyweight exercises with load = only the added weight is noted
