Bitterly cold in East Norfolk today but 88 species including RNduck, smew, Tundra Beans etc was enjoyable. Finished off with the Dipper at Bintree mill which showed well at last. #NorfolkBirding

Big moment for myself and Juan Carlos Figueroa today in Northern Peru getting good views of the monster that is Pale-billed Antpitta. No feeder for this one so squashed inside a bamboo thicket with Gavin and his crew - thanks for the hospitality in a confined space lads! 😂 🍺

Despite the fairly useless photos, yesterday's Pallas's Warbler at Waxham was actually pretty showy and a delight to watch. One of my favourite birds!

It's our 4th autumn in our house and chemicals and nutrients are low enough to get my first waxcaps in the lawn! Scarlet I assume but need to rule out Crimson.

A rainbow-filled (not bird-filled 😥) very blustery day. Capturing @beardybirder vomming a rainbow was a highlight. #tastetherainbow

Bird of the day was a Red-throated pipit, seen by @beardybirder but sadly heard only for me as I was deep in cover. Best of the rest - more flyover hawfinches, a Rouzel, a late yellow wag, woodcock, black redstart. Popped to Tresco for an hour and saw Serins & 2 lesser yellowlegs

A day off Bryher on St.Agnes for all things small. First stop Least adders tongue, the smallest fern in the UK (about 5mm) followed by a Little Bunting shortly after, appeared on the beach briefly, before disappearing and not being seen again.

Not much new on Bryher today. The Dotterel continued to show to less than 5m and a Merlin hunted nearby. The Hoopoe flew over our house while we were having lunch and pitched down on Tresco. Sadly no American passerines materialised 😞. @beardybirder @PeterMo03067857

A beautiful first day on the Scillies, nice to see a few bits and pieces but the Blyths pipit eluded us late this afternoon.

Warm front hitting west Cork!

Been looking at the forecast for my first trip to scilly in 14 years! The fast moving warm front looks interesting. I'm like an over excited kid waiting for Christmas.

A most enjoyable afternoon spent with the Winterton Asian Desert Warbler. My first in the UK for 30 years. And I mooted to @dbradnum only last weekend that we were due one with these easterlies... So I enjoyed waking him (and @beardybirder @iPterodroma) up with the news...

Yesterday X (Twitter) decided, between adverts, to show me gory drone footage of a Russian soldier being blown up by said drone. Not what I, or most normal people want to see when looking at their feed. I'm giving it a few more weeks before I'm off to Bluesky only. See you there?
