Casi siempre veo comentarios diciendo que algunos miembros de SEVENTEEN “van fachosos” o “ni se arreglan” cuando asisten a bodas de personas cercanas, ya sean maquillistas, managers, guardespaldas, miembros del staff o incluso bodas de familiares, como las de las hermanas de alguno de los miembros. Pero realmente eso tiene mucho más que ver con la cultura coreana y la manera en la que allá se perciben las bodas, que con una falta de respeto o desinterés. En varías partes estamos muy acostumbrados a que una boda sea prácticamente sinónimo de elegancia: vestidos formales, trajes, tacones, maquillaje, peinados y una producción enorme porque culturalmente se considera uno de los eventos más importantes y especiales para nosotros. Muchas veces también las bodas duran muchas horas y son grandes celebraciones donde todos conviven, bailan y pasan toda la noche juntos. Pero en Corea del Sur las bodas suelen ser totalmente distintas. Muchas se realizan en “wedding halls”, lugares donde incluso pueden celebrarse varias bodas el mismo día y donde las ceremonias suelen ser mucho más rápidas y prácticas. Hay invitados que llegan, felicitan a los novios, entregan el sobre de dinero, comen un poco y después se retiran porque tienen trabajo, horarios ocupados o incluso otro compromiso después. Por eso, la etiqueta coreana no se enfoca tanto en “verte súper elegante” sino en verte limpio, apropiado y discreto. De hecho, allá no existe la misma presión social de producirte demasiado para una boda como sí ocurre en muchos países. Es completamente normal ver personas usando ropa casual-formal, ropa cómoda, suéteres, tenis sencillos o incluso outfits parecidos a los que usarían para ir al trabajo. Y en el caso de los idols como los miembros de SEVENTEEN, esto todavía tiene más sentido ya que muchas veces ellos vienen de ensayos, grabaciones, vuelos, conciertos o agendas pesadísimas, así que asistir a una boda ya es un gesto enorme de cariño y apoyo hacia las personas cercanas a ellos. Además, culturalmente en Corea también se considera importante no “robar protagonismo” a los novios, por lo que muchas personas prefieren vestir de manera sobria y sencilla. Entonces, aunque para nosotros pueda parecer MUY raro verlos con ropa muy casual en una boda, dentro de la cultura coreana eso no significa que no les importe la persona o que estén siendo irrespetuosos. Simplemente es una diferencia cultural enorme en cómo se viven las bodas y cómo se entiende la etiqueta social alrededor de ellas. ✨
