It's freezing here, America! Only we hardy Canadians can handle this intense weather. Also, Canada is not for sale.

The unjustified U.S. tariffs hurt Canadian workers. We’re rightly retaliating — and every dollar from our tariffs will support our workers. Many families in Hamilton have worked multiple generations at ArcelorMittal Dofasco. We’ll take every step to ensure our steel and aluminum industries remain strong for generations to come, because we are Canada strong.

I'm so tired of HEGEMONY games. Not enough to just have your own system, gotta impose it on the entire world. American hegemony, Russian hegemony, Chinese Hegemony. Islamic theological hegemony. Enough with the hegemony already. Stop it.

Funny how both Capitalist AND Communist societies have no problem figuring out how to oppress the bulk of their populations by a select few. Maybe the economic ideology isn't the problem?

Capitalism and Communism are both based on the same INSANE principle: the prime purpose of society is to take the Earth's stuff and produce as much human stuff from it as fast as possible. We risk thermonuclear war fighting over which of these is better? So stupid.

Enraged, she proceeded to correct me in no uncertain terms. She explained how Ukraine had suffered under the Russian yoke. 46 yrs later I clearly remember that exchange. Don't let anyone tell you Ukraine is just part of Russia. They are not. And they deserve independence today.

I'm in my 70s... But when I was a young traveler in my late 20s (1979) I briefly taught English at a school in Tokyo, Japan. There I met a Ukrainian woman about the same age, who was also traveling in Japan and teaching English to get by. I commented, Oh you're Russian then?...

@Ayaan @Con_Tomlinson @CourageMedia___ I believe that you have chosen to "make a deal with the devil." You see Trump as a means to certain societal changes you'd like, while ignoring the clear and present dangers he represents. It's called narcissistic symbiosis. Save yourself.

@Ayaan @Con_Tomlinson @CourageMedia___ I get the impression that maybe you cherry-picked those parts of American history you wanted to learn. As for "taxation without representation," how is imposing tariffs on other countries as a form of "external revenue" any different?

President Trump wants to "repatriate" manufacturing businesses. Fair enough. But don't forget the original process of off-shoring was done to benefit from lower labor costs & weaker environmental standards elsewhere. Who was taking advantage of whom?

Immediate removal by force of any dissenting voice (Rep. Al Green). Expect more of this.
