#Israel & the #US are targeting schools and universities in stark violation of all norms and laws of war. Such targeting results from a desperate attempt to force #Iran to capitulate. Something that is unlikely given Iran steadfast resistance and capability of defending itself. On another related front, thousands of Israeli soldiers participating in the invasion of #Lebanon are facing unexpected stiff resistance to the chagrin of Israel's establishment.

With #Spain, #Italy and #France objecting to go along with the #US #imperialistwar in the #MiddleEast the pressure is growing on the US to wrap up it and call it a quit. The mounting world economic slowdown due to the increase in energy prices plus the continuous resistance in #Iran and #Lebanon are adding up to the pressure.

It is not uncommon to have mediocre politicians with zero integrity in positions of power. In #Lebanon,with its #coloniallegacy of #sectopolitics, inherited since the mid 19 th century, may have the largest number of politicians that their main capital is keeping coreligionist base at the service of foreign powers. #SamirJajaa, war criminal, is the archetype of such type of politician. @richani dilemmas of democracy &political parties in Sectarian Societies.

“That’s not a death penalty… that’s a genocide law.” Israeli Knesset member Ofer Cassif, a left-wing Israeli politician and member of the Hadash party, strongly condemned the Knesset’s approval of legislation allowing the execution of Palestinian detainees, warning that the law is discriminatory and targets Palestinians exclusively. Cassif argued that supporters of the bill deny the existence of “Jewish terrorism,” effectively excluding Israelis from the law while portraying Palestinians collectively as potential threats. He also pointed to statements by Israeli officials claiming there are no “innocent” civilians in Jenin, saying such rhetoric criminalizes an entire people.
