As exciting as it to go into a transfer window with Steidten and Lopetegui at the helm, it's hard to not feel nothing's changed and Sullivan has got his grubby little hands all over it. While people say 'chill', 'there's plenty of time', 'have faith in Tim', we have had a big exodus of players and perhaps more importantly are completely changing our playing style. We needed the majority of business done early so that new and existing players could acclimatise to the new system and it seemed like Tim & JLo were intent on that. 10 EPL teams have already made 4 signings or more. Our three include a 3rd choice keeper and a 'one for the future'. This may be a premature ejaculation but it feels like the same old West Ham right now. Maybe it's the Sullivan merry-go-round or maybe it's just the West Ham rumour mill, where Claret and Hugh have just been nominated for an environmental award for recycling. Links to injury prone, and never done anything, Nelson for £25m don't help, nor Calvert Lewin, McTominay, Wilson & Sorloth. Now it's soon-to-be 34yo Kante for £20-25m and £500k p/week, fantastic player but hardly Red Bull. Let's hope we get a break or two soon and Tim is allowed to do his job.
