New precautions & procedures definitely need to be developed to protect disabled people when emergencies arise. Also, I apologise for the way my comment came across, I didn’t intend to paint myself as the victim.

I’m sorry, I trained a few decades ago and the idea of leaving someone dependant on me to burn to death to save my skin is just not within my power to imagine. They are sick and trust us.😢

@hillsacp @TheSolandd @KatieBelliel @paigebnelson @erinhahn_author @grundercats I’m doing nursing at uni & we’re taught to leave patients behind (if we’d be putting ourselves at risk by saving them). It’s so there’s less people to save if something goes wrong

@TheSolandd @KatieBelliel @paigebnelson @erinhahn_author @grundercats Well for a start off … all staff were taught how to use all the various types of fire extinguisher - including which one to use on various types of fire eg. electrical, chemical etc. We were also taught how to evacuate a bed bound patient. Each hospital had a comprehensive plan
