@_HenryBolton @TiceRichard It’s entirely possible to stop the boats . When it suits them, the French do so. Are we weaker than them?!
English

Richard @TiceRichard I’ve explained to you in the past, very clearly, why this is particular approach is unworkable.
My fear is not that you’d try to do this, should you ever have the opportunity, it’s that the last thing the nation wants or needs are yet more promises that will not survive contact with legal, operational or practical reality.
This may be a catchy headline that you deploy to distract from other issues, but it will fail as a policy, and fail badly.

@AnnekaSvenska @SpeechUnion @TheCampBeagle_ @GMB This beggars belief. An “online thinking skills course”?! Where did they come up with that one -inspired by a Uighur re-education camp?

Two police officers came to my home because I spoke up for laboratory beagles.
MBR Acres complained about one of my Instagram reels and I was accused of an offence under the Online Safety Act.
My reel was based on evidence I believed to be genuine, including a Stericycle hazardous waste consignment note, whistleblower information and corroborating Home Office correspondence. I refused to admit guilt because I had done nothing dishonest.
After my solicitor explained the evidence behind my reel, Cambridgeshire Police took no further action and closed the investigation.
But the wider issue remains.
If people can face a police investigation for speaking on a matter of public interest, backed by evidence they believed to be true, then freedom of expression in Britain is under real pressure.
We should all be asking ourselves: what kind of country do we want to be? One where citizens can question powerful organisations without fear, or one where people begin to think twice before speaking because they worry the police may come knocking at their door?
It made me think of Orwell’s 1984. Not because Britain is that society, but because the fear of speaking freely is how societies begin to silence themselves.
My conscience is clear. I don’t lie. I speak from the heart and I do everything I reasonably can to ensure what I publish is evidence-based.
I will never stop standing up for animals, and I will never be intimidated into silence.
Free speech isn’t tested when everyone agrees with you. It’s tested when people have the right to question powerful interests without fearing the consequences. We must protect that right.

I am so grateful to the Free Speech Union for wonderful support, to my brilliant solicitor Mark Lewis of Patron Law.
And to the Telegraph and its superb News team which was not intimidated by the police who threw everything at us.

@cyber_scrutiny There are not "millions of women" wearing burqas in the UAE, but if there were, that is for them and their culture. Though I understand your confusion, the UK is not the Middle East or indeed a Muslim country
English

@IsabelOakeshott How does it make sense that you're literally in UAE - living among millions of women in burqa - and then spewing hate about them online.
You're a real danger to society and must be reported to UAE authorities for inciting hate and even violence.

@RhonddaBryant Great news; wishing you all the best for staying cancer free
English

Another piece of personal good news. My latest PET CT and MRI scans were cancer free again. Melanoma is a nasty bugger. I’ve already had it come back in my lung, but that was in Jan 24 and after surgery and immunotherapy I’ve been cancer free. Thank you #NHS
