I was asked about how Dems could optimize for the exceedingly unlikely Electoral College tie, where Prez is decided by a majority of House delegations (1 vote per state). While Dems don't have a path to a delegation majority, they can BLOCK the GOP from one. Map is 26R-20D-4T

@SonnieJohnson He didn’t get everything he wanted. Specifically this was the very issue he pushed for expanding and extending the child tax credit. It was successful during the pandemic, it expired and the house won’t pass it and it’s not filibuster proof in the senate

Also very unlikely if the EC is that close that Dems hold the Senate, I don’t see Murkowski voting for Vance, Collins maybe. Chaos either way but especially if Harris breaks tie

@ECaliberSeven In fact, if we get speaker Jeffries, we have no clue how he'd even chose to interpret this rule, for instance, he may choose to say that the state legislature votes need to be unanimous by state to block House Rs from getting to 26. This is especially true if dems hold Senate!

@ECaliberSeven House tie remains until broken. In the meantime Senate choses VP. VP acts until House chooses. If neither picks. Speaker is interim. if no Speaker, Pro Tem of the Senate until the above happens. Expect deal making, jockeying, chaos, attempted coups if this occurs.

I have no clue what happens if nobody has a House delegation majority. But given how EXCEEDINGLY unlikely an electoral college tie is, let alone one where the GOP's denied a delegation majority, Dems shouldn't bother considering this contingency. Assume a tie = Trump Term 2.
