LARGE CME launching off now from AR 4419 while we recover from the X1.5 flare. Due to the active region's positioning on the Sun's western limb, I would not expect much impact at Earth, but again we need to see more images + coronagraphs + models for more info.

X1.5 flare (peaked) + large CME *IN PROGRESS!* R3 strong radio blackout also occuring now. Source region is on the western limb - AR 4419. CME is not Earth-directed but I would not rule out a glancing blow. Too early to tell, so we need more data to confirm anything.

There have been a number of M-flares and CMEs recently--the Sun is waking up. Some of the eruptions have Earth-directed components. I will summarize activity later today (busy with final exams this week)!
