I say all of this to say, athletes please practice self accountability. Find your purpose for putting the time and energy into your craft. Nobody can want or do this for you. Your destiny is in your control. Lock in, plan, and be serious about what you do and HOW you do it.

These are things that I do not tolerate/allow from my athletes…
- Bad body language
- Halfway effort
- Poor communication
- Complaining
- Negative self talk
- Lack of interest
- Laziness

Money is not the satisfaction for all trainers. When I bring a kid into my program I ask myself these three things…
Is this athlete serious about their craft?
Does my training style benefit them?
Are they making progress in their target areas?
How can we continue to grow?

Parents, please be intentional about your investment when it comes to training. This is a systematic process that ultimately instills growth and development. If these kids are not coming with a purpose then time is being wasted on both ends. They have to want this for themselves.

I stopped my training session today and asked the kids, “Why are you training?” Some mentioned collegiate basketball, some mentioned professional. Some told me they simply wanted to get better. However, nobody went into detail as to why they were there. This leads me to this…
