Warm congratulations to PhD graduate Dr Yvonne Umulisa who yesterday was appointed as Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Rwandan Prime Minister!
Dr Umulisa was part of the @Sida bilateral research program with Rwanda that ISP coordinates on the Swedish side.

Yesterday, Prof Jérémie Zoueu from National Polytechnic Institute (INPHB) and University San Pedro in Ivory Coast, visited ISP.
Prof Jérémie is the network coordinator for the ISP supported network AFSIN (African Spectral Imaging Network).

The Rwanda-Sweden Annual Dialogue Meeting is taking place in Uppsala this week!
ISP is the coordinator for the 14 Swedish universities involved in this Sida cooperation.
More than 40 university staff are in Uppsala right now. Great to have you here!

Last week ISP arranged a farwell fika for Chris Bengtsson, Therese Rantakokko and Annika Kollstedt. Chris works at Karolinska Institutet and Therese at SLU. Annika will continue to work at UU, but at another department.

The winner of the first East African Mathematics Olympiad (EAMO) is Ms Erika Mutheu Oduor (Kenya). Erika had the best result of them all, she almost had a full score – very impressive!👏
ISP was one of the organziers of the Olympiad.

During 24-28 April, Sida and ISP are organizing the Annual Review Meeting (ARM) 2023 of Sida´s bilateral research cooperation with Bolivia in Stockholm.
ISP coordinates the research program on the Swedish side, so ISP´s Archana Ganganaboina and CarlaPuglia participate.

SIDA FUNDING OF ISP DRASTICALLY REDUCED!
From the agreed 35 million SEK/year to 15 million SEK in 2023, 10 million in 2024 and 7 million in 2025.
This will severely affect already awarded grants to groups and networks. It’s an immense challenge for us all.
