ITC is the first company in India to receive the global FSA (Farm Sustainability Assessment) 3.0 Silver benchmark in wheat & paddy.
At its core, this means ITC’s Wheat & Paddy sourcing clusters have been independently audited against globally recognised FSA 3.0 framework by the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI) Platform with 190+ member organisations, dedicated towards advancing sustainable agriculture in the food chain.
The FSA framework is widely used by global food and agri companies to assess, improve, and validate on-farm sustainability. It covers agronomy, natural resource stewardship, environmental protection and labour conditions. This milestone was achieved by working closely with 3,500+ farmers across 70+ Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, bringing smallholder and fragmented farm operations—spread across 22,000+ acres—under a single, transparent, and traceable sustainability standard. It reflects the consistent on-ground adoption of better farming practices, along with stronger documentation and traceability. This has been supported by ITC’s Climate Smart Agriculture Programme and the phygital capabilities of ITCMAARS.
Beyond the recognition itself, this effort strengthens trust and transparency in the supply chain and creates a stronger foundation for farmers to participate in differentiated, sustainability-linked markets—reinforcing ITC’s commitment to building transparent, resilient, and farmer-centric value chains, while scaling sustainability with credibility and impact.

This brand from ITC makes food that's balanced, wholesome, and healthy. Can you guess which of these are we talking about?
English

Not long ago, Vimla Malvi from Molga village in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh, walked long distances under the harsh sun, carrying pots of water on her head — leaving her exhausted and with little time for anything else.
Today, as part of an ITC-supported Water User Group, she is actively involved in maintaining her village dam — helping bring lasting change to her community.
On World Water Day, the theme of ‘Water and Gender’ highlights a powerful truth — when women lead, communities thrive.
At ITC, inclusive Water User Groups are enabling rural communities to collectively manage water resources, revive water bodies, and adopt climate-resilient farming practices — transforming previously barren land into productive farmland.
With 5,800+ groups across 17 states, covering 1.89 million acres and benefiting over 5 lakh people, this initiative is advancing water equity while strengthening livelihoods at scale.
In these inclusive Water User Groups, women play an active role in decision-making on how water is managed, maintained, and shared.
At ITC, water stewardship is embedded at the core of our sustainability strategy, guided by a three-pronged approach:
💧Augmenting water supply, especially in stressed regions
💧Optimising water demand across agriculture and operations
💧Rejuvenating river basins through multi-pronged interventions
