What was once a vehicle-dominated stretch with narrow broken footpaths and limited space for pedestrians has now been transformed into Chennai’s first pedestrian-priority high street at Khader Nawaz Khan Road. (1/2)

What followed was grounded in lived experience, unsafe roads, long commutes, inaccessible systems, and a shared call for change. Citizens, community advocates, academics, media, and city representatives from across Tamil Nadu came together to visualise how our cities should move.
