I don’t care if “it’s just the way of the internet/this app.” It makes me so sad and angry to see people bully and say hateful things about others. We all have to try to be a lot kinder on this app, or just say nothing at all.

That’s correct. In the past, you could turn off the ability to share your address with 3rd party vendors, which simply meant those items couldn’t be purchased by someone other than you. In the future, you won’t be able to turn off that restriction. So if you have items that are not shipping from Amazon (or if a purchaser chooses a non-Amazon vendor to complete the purchase from), your address will be shared with the vendor for shipping purposes. The problem is that outside vendors use various shipping methods, which provide various levels of details with their tracking information, thereby potentially also releasing your information to the purchaser. Amazon also can’t guarantee that an other vendor’s customer service won’t release your information.
