@OllieSC2005 @EdBaker97 Other newspapers have reported on what the athletic have said. It's called investigative journalism, not all of them can do it at the same time
English

@itfc229234 @EdBaker97 It’s the only newspaper that has reported this about Aston. Why hasn’t other newspapers reported it?
English

@OllieSC2005 @EdBaker97 You think the new york times is just making that up then?
English

@itfc229234 @EdBaker97 A newspaper reported it. Still not true. If we believe everything what newspapers speculate about the world will be very different.
English

@itfc229234 @EdBaker97 That’s all stuff he did. We haven’t rolled out the red carpet for him. He’s been treated no different to anyone else. If you think he has made us into a laughing stock that’s on you.
English

@Dean07375387 @IpswichCulture For now... three years until a general election. Another three years for the facade to crack and people to see reform for what they really are
English

🤯 Turns out Ashton was behind the whole thing, genuinely gobsmacked. For someone so obsessed with public image, I can’t believe he signed it off. Even if he’s a Farage fan, surely he must’ve known the uproar it would cause
What must O’Leary be thinking?
I think he goes.

I love Ashton & everything he’s done/ doing for #itfc, but I hope him being appointed Chairman is temporary whilst they find the right replacement. O’Leary definitely kept him grounded & in check- this potentially means MA has total reigns of everything Hope this isn’t the case
English

@EdBaker97 Classic straw man from you. It's not because he "had a cup of tea". It's because he used the football club to do it, turned the club into a reform advert, and most importantly tried to lie about it and take the fans for fools
English

@coxmattyy It's fine we can just go to the chairman to get the CEO sacked...
English

@MaxiWardley Christ I thought your opinions about football were shit enough but you've really doubled down over the last couple of days and proved it's just your opinions about everything
English

I hate that Zack Polanski with a passion, but if he had dinner with Ashton I wouldn’t be shouting for him to resign. I just think what a couple of twats #itfc
People wanting him to resign about lying are actually lying themselves. It’s because it’s Farage
English

@MaxiWardley At the very least he needs to come out and own it. That he was doing it on his own agenda, not on behalf of the club. I don't know why you're so happy for someone to treat you like an idiot like this
English

I bet everyone who wants Aston out Booed the pitch invasion #itfc
Dead cert
English

Best case scenario that happens now:
Ashton fesses up, and fucks off. The club grows a backbone and puts a decent statement out apologising for the whole affair, particularly the lying and treating fans like fools. Clarify that Ashton was not acting on behalf of the club #itfc
English

@MikeAmos23139 It's not because farage came though is it. It's because Ashton has lied to us and treated us all like idiots. Must have known the truth would come out.
English

it’s really not that deep. people really want MA to go over this?!?!?!? 😂😂😂 crucial stage of the season and we all need to stay behind this football club #itfc
The Athletic | Football@TheAthleticFC
Nigel Farage’s visit to Ipswich Town this week has sparked a major backlash. Fans have accused the club of allowing itself to be used for political purposes, but there is also internal dissent at the club’s handling of the affair. The Athletic can now reveal that the club’s depiction of the visit, as presented to both staff and media, is being heavily disputed. This is the inside story of a chaotic 72 hours. 📝 @Dan_Sheldon_ 🔗 nyti.ms/3Pxq08A

My head has fell off. I'm seriously seeing #itfc calling for Ashton to resign. Cancel culture in full swing. Absolutely pathetic.
English

@mark__heath Next prime minister turns up at a football club! No one seems to have a problem with the current clown turning up at Arsenal
English

Ipswich Town is a special football club. They’ve got so many things right over the past five years and beyond.
But they got this badly wrong - and now they should apologise.
My thoughts ⬇️

@MarinerMan2 @mark__heath Israel flag in the bio says it all. You wouldn't know true inclusively if it invited you in for tea
English

@mark__heath Town have done nothing wrong here (just like they did nothing wrong in 2022 when Sunak visited) and have demonstrated true commitment to inclusivity. The kicking off is because it's Farage and we now have Farage Derangement Syndrome in the UK. Sorry not required
English

@Will85088313243 @mark__heath Presumably you haven't actually read the article? Where he says exactly that?
English

@mark__heath Presumably you’d have said this for any politician visiting as well?
English

@1lee18750 @mark__heath If you read the article, you will see he says exactly that. Anyone is allowed opinions or beliefs, but the club claims it is apolitical and then does this. And no matter your personal views on farage, surely you can admit he is a divisive figure?
English

@mark__heath Problem with the left is if your opinion is different they label you and demand an apology, i won’t be voting reform, Ipswich have done nothing wrong, farage and the club have nothing to apologise for you melt, people are allowed a difference of opinion you do know that right?
