Why would India be the mediator?
Are Indians seriously that dumb?
Pakistan has historical and cultural and religious ties to Iran
Their languages are similar
India on the other hand treats its own Muslim population as second-class citizens akin to traitors
Pakistan shares a border with Iran
India is disliked by most of its neighbours - many of whom look down on its arrogance and hegemonic inclinations
India is not a neutral party at all and clearly sided with Israel - literally 2-3 days before Israel attacked Iran
India invited an Iranian navy ship and when it was returning the Americans attacked it and the ship sank and close to 100 Iranian navy sailors lost their lives
India also doesn’t have good ties with the US and Modi has been by more or less abiding him since the May 2025 conflict with Pakistan in which India suffered extreme ignominy and humiliation
So one really has to wonder why all these Indian journalists keep whining that India should have been the mediator
Makes no sense at all
And the only plausible explanation one can think of is that Godi media is so brainwashed and brain dead that it totally believes it’s own lies and disinformation as the Gospel truth

Superb article by my dear colleague, @FarhanHSiddiqi : "For now, the country has done remarkably well by positioning itself as a “key interlocutor” opening channels of communication with the #UnitedStates, #Iran, #SaudArabia, and other #Gulf States. However, if the war escalates further beyond the present threshold, or if the much-speculated peace talks fail to bear fruit, pressure on #Pakistan to take on a kinetic role and align with Saudi Arabia is bound to increase. This would effectively force a limit on its bridge-building role. And for a polity engaged in a delicate balancing act in the region and beyond, such a development could prove incredibly costly." #IranWar

Chinese FM Wang Yi held a phone conversation with Pakistani Deputy PM and FM Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
Wang Yi said that #China appreciates Pakistan’s unremitting efforts to de‑escalate the Iranian situation and supports #Pakistan in continuing to play its role as a mediator.
The two sides agreed to work together to promote a ceasefire, resume peace talks, ensure the safety of non-military targets and shipping routes, and support the #UN in playing a major role.

Spot on @NadeemfParacha Western media is still stuck with the same old nonsense: Israel as the victim, Europe as the good guy, America as the boss of the world, and India as some perfect success story.
These tired tropes aren't real journalism they're just dying empire talk.
The multipolar world is already here. The dinosaurs are finished.
Nadeem Farooq Paracha@NadeemfParacha
Dear Western media: Your tropes of Israel as victim, Europe as moral compass, US as sole hegemon, and India as an exotic neoliberal curiosity are dead. You are clinging to decaying cliches. Refusing to acknowledge this doesn't make you "objective". It makes you a dinosaur.

Held a detailed telephone conversation with my brother President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran earlier today, lasting over one hour.
I reiterated Pakistan’s strong condemnation of the continued Israeli attacks on Iran, including recent strikes on civilian infrastructure, and conveyed Pakistan’s solidarity with the brave people of Iran. Expressed, once again, my condolences on the tragic loss of precious lives and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured and displaced.
Also thanked him for his appreciation of Pakistan’s sincere efforts to advance peace and facilitate dialogue in the region.
I apprised him of Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic outreach - engaging the United States and brotherly Gulf and Islamic countries - to facilitate dialogue and de-escalation.

Saudi Arabia has so far avoided the Strait of Hormuz constraint by routing oil through its East-West pipeline to the Red Sea (Yanbu), built precisely for crisis scenarios. With capacity around 5–7 million barrels per day, it provides a critical alternative to Gulf chokepoints, including the Bab-el-Mandeb corridor between Saudi and Yemeni coasts.
