this is the problem i have with the percy jackson series as well, afaik the only greek person playing a greek god is jason mantzoukas. i think you can make an effort to be diverse but also include the people whose ancestors believed in these stories like its not that hard

you would not have this story at all if not for their culture, particularly the greeks. i’m happy to see diversity in these myths and epics being adapted by all means, but why can’t that diversity ever extend to the people whose culture it belongs to

now im a white american i have no dog in this race ok but as someone with italian & greek heritage it does irk me a lot on their behalf to see not even a single mediterranean face in this cast
