At Bayern Munich, I had everything. We were winning trophies every season, competing for every title possible, and personally I was in one of the best moments of my career. One or two years before joining Barça, I had already won everything there was to win with Bayern. Many people asked me: ‘Why leave a perfect situation?’ But football is not only about comfort. Sometimes you feel something bigger inside you. At that moment, Barcelona were in a very difficult situation. Not only financially, but also emotionally as a club. When we played against them in the Champions League with Bayern, I remember feeling that something was missing. You could see the stadium, the fans, the history… but it did not feel like the Barcelona that everyone respected for many years. After four years full of challenges and hard work, it's time to move on. I leave with the feeling that the mission is complete. 4 seasons, 3 championships.
