@Child_ofOlive Jinora only shaved her head for the tattoos but after that she has a regular hairstyle. Female airbenders in the ATLA design tend to have more of a half shaved head similar to the Queue style. We can see in comparison they don’t do the bald head/Queue style jinora & her siblings

Idk why they keep pushing different Arrows. The simple blue arrow is so iconic. Its also supposed to mirror the Bison who taught Airbending to the Nomads.

@Child_ofOlive True, but what I mean is creative wise it’s limiting/boring. After ATLA they’ve been finding ways to have more unique designs to the airbenders rather then giving them the pure shaved head & block tattoo combo ie: Jinora + siblings, Taga, Sonam, Jae, the new airbenders etc.

🚨Sad News - Release That Witch’ anime reportedly ended early at Episode 8 due to funding issues 💔 Originally planned for a longer run (12 episodes), with Season 2 also under consideration, the project couldn’t continue as expected. Another anime with strong potential… cut short too soon.

@images_i_hate2 Ppl often justify it by saying “modern advancements” but we can have “modern” designs with Asian influence like it’s not that hard if you’re intentional about it. Heck Wuthering waves literally proved you can keep Asian influence within a design while keeping it futuristic.

@KMorrite @LOTM_WORLD 100% agree. Perhaps a 6-7 book series would work incredibly for LOTM (maybe 15 like wheel of time). ☝🏻 I think a published route would have helped with the depth/writing and prevent burn out as the WN industry are so focused on word length & exploiting the authors. 😔

@babyzukos In concept so many aspects about the movie was fucking amazing; the costumes, the sets, the score, the idea, Dev Patel & heck white boy Aang really could fight…. But the execution oomph but lowkey I wish to have seen M.nights trilogy vision just to see what direction he wanted😀

@DanFriedman81 I also think ppl over estimate the current mainstream popularity ATLA has compared to Anime’s like Kny. Kny has the whole Asian market, & that’s not to say ATLA doesn’t, but it would never have reached kny numbers in the box office. 🤔 tbh it felt like an anime filler movie too

It makes total sense not to release the "Avatar Aang" movie in theaters. Here's why: 1. "Avatar: The Last Airbender" concluded in 2008, 18 years ago. The original fans who watched it on Nickelodeon are now in their 30s. Getting that audience into a theater for an animated movie is extremely dubious. 2. Kids and families are the traditional market for animated movies. But is there a large audience of kids who want to see a sequel movie about the characters from a TV show that aired from 2005-2008 as adults? Probably not. 3. Among die-hard fans of the original series this movie is controversial, because after 2020, studios decided that animated characters cannot be voiced by performers of a different race than the characters. "Avatar: The Last Airbender" is a story about fictional anime characters in a fantasy world who are coded with indicators suggesting Asian, Pacific Islander and Alaskan Native cultural backgrounds. Most of the voice cast was white. None of them are returning. Many of the original fans of the show are disappointed that the voice actors were recast for this reason, so even among that audience, a sizable fraction are hostile to this movie. 4. The movie isn't very good. The problem with this movie is that it isn't for anyone. It is not a reunion for the fans, because the voice cast has been replaced for political reasons. In fact, it implicitly shames the original series by implying that there was something wrong with the original casting. At the same time, it is totally reliant on fans of that series to have any constituency. A revival project like this needs to radiate total love and enthusiasm for the property in a way that unites the fans behind it. If it implies that the fans and the property have to change in some major way to accommodate people who aren't part of the original fanbase, it will incite backlash and resentment. People who believe the thing needs to change aren't real fans.
