Modern Protestants like to make the claim that Christianity is a “relationship” and not a “religion”. The word religion comes from the Latin Religiō, meaning “to tie fast”, “bind together”, or “connect” one with God. When I married my wife, we were bound together. So religion sure sounds like a relationship.

I’m at a Target and people keep riding up on bikes then going inside without locking them up Part of me thinks it’s nice to live in a community where it’s not a concern to lock up your bike… the other part of me grew up as a hoodrat and sees some free bikes

I still think it’s completely inexcusable that so many electronics don’t come with a power brick (AC adapter) anymore. Companies always say “oh well people have so many of them anyway”. How do you know that? Most of the ones that I own are being used by other devices. And there’s different voltage requirements/charging technologies depending on the device, and now we have some that use USB-C. Is it too much to ask that you include something in the box that can optimally power the device that I literally just bought from you? *end rant*

When I was a director of confirmation for a Catholic parish in San Diego, I was asked by a local protestant church to give a talk to youth/families on why Abortion is evil. I started off the talk explaining that abortion is the natural end of a contraceptive society. That we must recognize first that contraception is evil which lead to normalizing abortion. When I finished my talk, the pastor of that parish came up and addressed his congregation and said, " I want to clarify, the Catholics don't accept birth control, but here in our church we have no issues with it". When he dismissed the families, I tried confronting him but he avoided me like I had leprosy.

For a while (maybe still happens), there was all this noise about lack of Asian representation in Hollywood. Have we considered that it may be due to Asian parents? "I want to be an actor mom/dad!" "No, you be doctor!"
